No poop again. :(

This is more of a vent, but any advice, reassurance, etc. would be great.

So, my DD was born on 10/21, making her 9 days old today. She has yet to have a non-meconium poop. She was done with the meconium on day 2 and since then, it's just gas.

This is pretty much what happened with DS2. He had really smelly gas though. He nursed and nursed and nursed, with no poop. I went to the nurse practitioner 3 times in 4 days to find out what was wrong and encourage him to poop. We had an X-ray done at 8 days to rule out a bowel obstruction and all the xray showed was a gassy baby.

So, I'm worried. I hate that everyone says she should be having multiple poopy diapers by now. I'm sure my milk has been in for a few days at least now. I'm just worried and wish she would poop already.

Hopefully your DD is just following the same pattern as your DS but because this is not a normal pattern I would definitely go see your care provider and a lactation consultant. They could start with doing some weighing before and after a feed to make sure baby is adequately taking milk from you before moving to more invasive testing.

How are her wet diapers? Is she giving 6 heavy wet diaper in 24 hours? Like the kind of wet you get when you put 3 tablespoons of water in a fresh diaper?
Is she gaining weight now? If she has stopped losing weight, and is making 6 heavy diapers a day, and nursing well (transfering milk well) then it is worth watching, but not as worrying as if she was still losing weight or not peeing enough.
Have you taken her to see your midwife/doctor/nurse practitioner? If you haven't, I'd stongly think about going. Chances are everything is OK, but not pooping for a week and not ever having a non-meconium poop are definitely outside the typical newborn patterns, and worth checking out.
Hopefully she'll start pooping up a storm soon!

Of course as soon as I worry enough to rant on here, she poops... 3 times since then.
