Pregnant with nursling - Page 3

Another prego with nursling checking in. My son is 15 months, and though he had self weened down to once or twice a day and ocasionally skipping days--it seemed like as soon as this little one implanted he REALLY ramped up the nursing.
I nursed my first son most of the way through my second pregnancy. I had no idea that tandem nursing was even possible back then so at his second birthday I told him there was a baby coming soon who would need my milk and that we needed to stop. He thought about it for a second smiled said "ok mommy" and that was that. I had zero engorgementand he stopped cold turkey so there must have been no milk anyhow.
I usually get ms pretty early in a pregnancy but it seems to be really bad really early this time. I'm only 4.5 weeks and I am toting large tumblers around with me everywhere just in case!
Oh well it is all so very worth it!!!

Nursing my 20 month old... although lately she's been sucking for like 2 seconds and popping off and saying all done. Not sure what is up with that. She did get one good nursing session in today though. Hmmmm. I definitely want her to nurse until at least 2, and wouldn't mind tandem nursing at all!

Anyone else's nipples KILLING them?

I'm still nursing my 22 mo old. I night weaned him about 4 months ago, and I think I will try to gradually wean him. I'm not a blissful nurser - I do it to 2 because its good for them and easier for me, not because I love it. I'm hoping he'll just wean himself when the milk supply diminishes, but then I hoped he would night wean faster than his brother because he's got a more charming personality, but he was actually much more difficult. So I will see how it goes. If it is really a tragedy for him, then we'll keep nursing, since it is one of the only ways he gets mom's undivided attention (my oldest son is VERY demanding).

Last time nursing got so painful that I could barely stand it. Also, ds1 and I had a really complicated nursing relationship, and two years was really enough. Ds 2 will be two in January, so I will probably try to start weaning soon. So far I"m just not offering / not refusing.

i'm still nursing my 12-month-old son. i hope we can continue as long as he wants, and perhaps tandem, since he'll only be 20 months when the new baby is born. i have never in my life been open to tandeming, but then, i've never had babies this close together.

i nursed both of my daughters through the pregnancies that followed them, and they nursed to 23 months and two and a half, respectively. i got sore and lost most of my supply, basically dry nursing, but it was mostly just fine.

i really don't want to go dry this time, for asher's sake, but knowing my body, i will.

I'm still nursing my 28 month old son twice a day, once before his nap and once before bed. I thought he was done the other day, he refused to nurse two days in a row. I was so sad! Luckily he started up again. It's only a matter of time, though, before he weans. I'm pretty sure my supply is already dwindling just because of the way it feels when he first latches on.

I feel so sad that he's probably going to wean because of the pregnancy and not because it's his "choice." I just want to cry every time he nurses, wondering if it'll be the last time. At the same time, I don't know that I could tolerate him continuing throughout the entire pregnancy. I also wonder if maybe by weaning now he won't be quite as jealous when the baby is born...like maybe he won't see my breasts as "his" anymore by that time.

I still feel so sad about it though. It's been such an amazing, difficult, beautiful journey with him.

I'm still nursing my 18 month old. She nurses a lot and will also nurse 2-3 times at night. I think I'll try that green juice. I noticed that the ingredients in the milktwo has red raspberry leaf and nettle which ..I could just get the tea for a lot cheaper.

I'm still nursing my 21 mo DD, though I'm not sure how long it will last! We've been all over the map on how often we're nursing...some days it seems like it's all.the.time. Other days it's only 4 times or so. I know she's not really ready to wean, but I'm starting to get there. It's starting to hurt and I occasionally get the heebie-jeebies. We're working on night weaning right now which has only been semi-successful
Some days I really want to nurse her until SHE is done, but other days I just want to be done! It just seems so complicated now, I can never make up my mind so I just take it one day at a time.

I'm also nursing a 15 month old. I can definitely tell that my supply is lower, but she is trying to make up for it, I think, by nursing like she did as a newborn. We are trying to night wean, which is going okay, and I think that as long as I can do that, I'm okay with nursing during the day. I am also willing to tandem for as long as my LO wants!

I'm also eating oatmeal and drinking more water to see if that helps. My nausea hasn't kicked in yet, usually happens around 6-8 weeks, but it would be awfully nice if it didn't happen this time! (wishful thinking!)

Still nursing my 17 month old. I haven't noticed a big drop in supply although I have noticed she wants to nurse more all of the sudden. Maybe she is trying to ramp up my supply!
