My husband just got offered a job in Chengdu, and I think he's going to take it. We'll be moving out there after Christmas. I am freaking out. I'm a stay at home mom and DD will be ten months at that point. I don't know anybody there and I've never been to the far east. I've lived overseas before but in Europe...this is a whole different ball game...hoping to find some like-minded mamas...

This potty is great - excellent value & performance! (plus it's cute!) My 9 month old DS took to it right away. He is a big boy (30 in. tall - feet not quite on floor - & 27 lbs.) and this is...

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

no, I'm in Beijing...there are a couple MDC mamas in Shanghai, too.
Some of the Chengdu mamas are into ECing, organic food, etc. so maybe do some searches on the group site, and see if there's anyone IRL to connect with!

Thank you, I will!
Here's another question: is it easy to get cloth diapers in China? We EC and I know it'll be easy to get split crotch pants, tiny undies, etc., there...but I think I might still want to use trainers/diapers sometimes, and I wonder if it's easy to get the fancy brands of cloth diapers there (like Fuzzi Bunz, Swaddlebees, SimplyCloth covers...). What do you think? Should I stock up before I go?

Fuzzi Buns, Kushies, Bambino Mio are available here...really really expensive.
For babies #1 and 2, I bought a ton of stuff on ebay and shipped it for much less.
For new baby (never CD'd a newborn before) I'm doing flats and covers (bought used from expats here). Flats can be found everywhere in the local baby stores. I recommend checking out the laundry situation where you live. My prefolds are crunchy and unusable. Therefore I decided old fashioned flats are much better for us, overall.
