LOVE the "Placenta Rescue" story!
Molly was born Feb 04 ... we never did anything with the placenta, so we assume it's still in the freezer. When we lost power from Ike, we tried to find it
... no luck ... we did find some random pets in the freezer, though, and had a midnight clandestine burial (sans kids, they didn't need to know that) ... I've been slowly cleaning out the freezer ever since then, and I imagine the placenta will be on the very bottom - we'll bury it somewhere "just because" - or maybe we'll wait til the new one is born and bury both together. We're moving in the spring, so we don't have much incentive to plant a tree or anything symbolic. We're just going to bury it because we "should".
