My new favorite person, a Mr. Finnegan Joseph Marcus Dronberger (yes, a mouthful!) was born last night at 7:25pm. 9 lbs, 8 oz, 21 inches!

Labor was incredibly difficult. I had been having contractions since Tuesday that would be regular for hours and then stop. They seemed much more serious early Thursday morning, so we went to the hospital at about 4am. Labor was very slow going, and it turned out that he was OP No one told me that he was OP until after 6 hours of EXCRUCIATING back labor and I ended up asking for an epidural after 13 hours of active labor because I honestly could not deal with the pain anymore. I had the epidural when at about 9 cm and there was a slight rim, and after three days of contractions and maybe 7 hours of sleep in those three days, I just couldn't muster the strength. I would have loved to actually feel my baby coming out, but I don't regret it at all.

Our doctor let daddy catch Finn, which he won't stop talking about as being one of the best experiences of his life He was an AMAZING labor coach and I am just bursting with joy to have him and our wonderful fussy Finn.

Welcome, little Finnegan! ::

My 9 lb 5 oz ds2 was OP, too, and I also ended up opting for the epidural pain relief at 9 cm. So I feel you!
