Conley Paul arrived on Wed, Oct 29th at 6:32am after being 42w 3 days late. Long story short, after laboring at home for an intended homebirth, and being complete and pushing with just an anterior lip...2 hours later an ambulance was called for an emergency transport. My cervix ended up swelling badly and closed back down to 7 cm and nothing my midwife could do to get the swelling to stop. And the force of the involuntary pushing contractionsw were forcing the cervix lower into the birth canal, a very serious situation. I had to try and fight my body for nearly an hour to stop pushing and the ride to the hospital was the mode horrendous thing I have ever endured. The hospital was waiting for us and not even 20 minutes after arriving, Conley was born via emergency csection. He weighed in at a svelt 9 lbs 6 oz. I am still trying to process it all and will write a complete story when i do. I am still ovewhelmed by thought that if there wasnt modern medicine, that either Conley or I, or even worse, both of us could have perished. So right now I am home and about to go snuggle and nurse my little one.
Conley Paul finally arrived!!!
