My kids all kind of did this at this age. Really. All 4 lost weight, started getting fussy and my breasts felt differently. How much does she spit up? I would get some Gripe Water for DD and tell yourself to calm down. Start counting how many wet / poop diapers she has- weighing the diapers isn't always easy or accurate. Plus if you are stressing yourself out over how much her wet diapers weighs then you are only making things more stressfull!

Is this your first baby? Are you doing too much around the house? Is there too much drama in your life right now? As for using the breast pump I'm right there with you- I can't hardly pump much either (not on a regular basis) but Hand Expressing! I can hand express TONS of milk, have you tried that?

If you can, put the TV in your room (if you watch tv) and close the blinds and go hide for a few days in a darkened, quiet room where you can sleep tons and nurse tons too!

I agree that it feels, from what you've said, that this is more about stress. You have to trust your instincts here. Is DD sick? Is she congested or have an ear infection? That could have some effect on your supply if she's not effectively nursing. Boil some water with 10-15 drops of eucalyptis oil (sp) on the stove(not for drinking- just smelling)- it will fill your house with the smell of the oil and help her to breathe easier. Had to do that with my LO's around that age too.

Hugs momma!

It can't come out if it isn't going in.
It sounds like you're working so hard to make this work - kudos to you
I've tried all the helplines, I'm doing everything "right" so there is nothing they can add.

I am working very hard, thanks for the hug!

I can't hand express much either, and she is my 2nd so the toddler won't allow me to hide in bed for a day, she seems a bit better today, but it's very early. I don't clean or cook, I nurse all day and night, that is my job

Things are OK so far today, she only nursed twice from 2am-10am but I had an SVT round 6 again so wasn't keen on getting up early.
I did soak a paper towel during one feeding and felt milk in them.

She seems happier but it's only 11am now.

We played with the scale, this is why weighing is such a tricky game

10 am before feed 4100 grams
10:15am after 1 boob 4170
11:00 after 2nd boob + poo 4090 grams

It shows she got 70mls in one session, that is good right? It is the best part of the day for us though.

Last night though I didnt get a let down for a long time, still not sure what is/was going on.

BTW she wont take the sns now either So currently we have no method of supplementing if we need to, and the test milk I froze came out smelly

I did everything "right", too. But my baby still lost weight.
He's gaining now – at three months – with the addition of pumping and supplementing with EBM and a few ounces of formula in a Lact-Aid.
But when he was not gaining, I reluctantly used bottles of formula. As the LC who told me I had to in the short term told me, the first priority is feeding the kid. Period.
Hugs to you.

Sounds like things are a little better today- and I hope this was just kind of a one time deal. Lets hope.

I think you are doing a WONDERFUL job! This must be very hard on you physically and mentally. Please give yourself a big hug- because you are doing a great job. Even if you have to FF that in no way makes you any less of a wonderfull mother.

I agree with Megan73's LC about the goal is to feed the baby- and for some it's harder than others. I think that you being so aware of what's going on and taking all the nesicary precautions this will have a great outcome. HUGS and please keep us posted on how you are doing, and how baby is feeding!

thanks! shes fussing as we speak even after a let down Oh that makes me want to scream, dont scream for milk, get it, then get annoyed with it, kwim?

We made it without formula, I pray this is the end.

I have 50mls of ebm, which for me is TONS. I have lipase probs so freezing is a PIA

Hopefully her big brother can have it

Has the baby had any issues with reflux? Being fussy after trying to latch on and get something could be reflux. Additionally, reflux can cause babies not to hang on to as many calories. My second baby had silent reflux, which meant no actual spit up coming out, but rather choking and swallowing when she had something come up and go back down again. It can be pretty scary, but that could explain some of the issues you're having.
