I'm off to make some wipes, but wondering how many for a good rotation?we're expecting #5 and have a toddler in dipes and any mess in general to consider.Do you ever have enough?I'd like to wash every other day, if possible too.TIA!

I think I had 36 for 1 baby and washed every other day, so 50 might be a good goal!

Sheesh, more than I thought!Although, the diposables come in packs of 80, so I guess it makes sense....Thanks!

I have 30 just for 1 baby, and it's not enough, I'm almost always out!

LOL - I vote for as many as you can sew. I am also expecting our fifth baby and have a toddler in diapers. We've been cding for over 8 years and I just keep making more. It seems like we still run out sometimes. They get left in the car, the diaper bag, upstairs, downstairs, etc. It's just good to have a whole bunch.

I have around 50, with only one in diapers. I wash every other day.

Of course, I use my wipes just like I would with sposies - not just for diaper changing, but also hand and face wiping. And they are the BEST for nose blowing.

I had about 3 dozen for my baby when she was a newborn and it was barely enough. Now it's more than plenty but when a babe is pooping multiple times a day it really takes a lot of wipes. So I would say you need probably 4 dozen. 3 doz for the new babe and 1 doz for the toddler. However I also have a couple dozen baby wash cloths for cleaning face and hands (I don't like mixing bottom wipers and face wipers) so if you're planning on using them for those things too I'd plan on 6 dozen total.

washed every 3-4 days. i had 30 always had enough but i dont wipe pee changes.

Probably about as many wipes as you have diapers- some diaper changes you won't use a wipe at all; and other diaper changes may require 3-4 wipes to get the baby fully clean- it balances out. If you use wipes for every single change, even damp diapers, then you'll want to get more wipes than diapers.

We have 60. It's a good number for an every other day wash. That way I've still got some while the wash is going. Sometimes I forget my wash is going.

Wow I never had that many wipes when my son was in dipes. I had two sets of nice soft flannel wipes, most of which I've sadly given away- 12 for face/body and 12 for bum (different colors to keep separate- I also felt icky about mixing them up). I also used regular TP for a lot of the poop cleanup (I would just dump it all in the toilet afterwards anyway), and generally just used one wet cloth wipe for the last clean-off. But I didn't use wipes for pee (maybe boys are easier that way?). I also had about 24 regular washcloths that I used ALL the time for a variety of cleanups, more once he was a toddler (messy hands, face, messy table, etc)

Has anyone made wipes without a serger, how did it go? I bought by first ones but now I want to replace/rebuild for baby on the way and I'm wanting to do it cheaper by sewing my own.

We had about 50, spent 2 days cutting them out. (2 layers flannel) One day was sewing them right sides together. One day was turning them right side out. Last day was topstitching. So I worked on them while the kids were playing and I could watch them, and they were done in about a week.

I started with 30 and always ran out. I think that it also depends on how often you plan to wash them
