Reccommend a good foot file please!

I try to use pumice whenever I can (usually soak in the tub for a while then use), however with DH he doesn't do that and is very prone to dry cracked heels. We have a few files (stainless, nickel) already. My nickel file has been pretty much the best so far, however the filing part is actually starting to peel off!

Some have reccommended a 'ped egg' to me....don't know if anyone here has one of those. Any other reccommendations?

I use my pumice in the shower and it works great! DH uses it sometimes, too, when he thinks about it. I haven't found "soaking" to be necessary, just be sure the skin and pumice are wet. Actually, I think only ONE (pumice OR skin) needs to be wet. My pumice has to be wet or it hurts my skin and my feet are already wet from the shower, so I make sure both are wet.

The other thing to do is make sure you and DH are drinking plenty of water and eating healthy, including some healthy fats. Nourish your skin from the inside...

I'll have him try it in the shower, but I have and it seems to work really phenomenal if you soak in a bath for a long while and then pumice it. But, I'll suggest he tries it!

I think the culprit here is walking around barefoot predominately and having ceramic tile in the whole house. Didn't have these issues when we had carpet...sigh.

Stick to the pumice, , most files are too harsh, especially on dry skin. If you take away too much, you worsen the problem.
What works wonders though is putting foot cream on the cracked heels every morning and evening. This is not a thing for most men, unfortunately.

Yep, we have some lotion made especially for cracked heels. He's horrible about using it. BUT, he has no issues with the periodic filing...sigh.

Um, yes, I can relate. DH will use my pumice, but has never gone near any lotion or cream.

A "sneaky" way to do this, though LOL, is to give him a massage with oil. Works best if his skin is damp first, like after a shower or even just spritz his feet before you begin. Make it sexy... Eventually...he'll have to get up. If he does in bare feet, he'll slide on the tile... so have a pair of socks close at hand.

I have the Ped Egg and LOVE it!

Warning: if you get grossed out or in my case, your DH is easily grossed out...don't empty your Ped Egg into the garbage in front of him. My "foot flakes" almost made DH barf.

I was going to recommend the ped egg as well. That thing is awesome and the best thing that ever happened to my feet.

My Hubby has horrible cracked feet also and wouldn't put anything on his feet regularly. I made a new skin thing and tried it on his feet. He likes this one alot! He also likes me to rub it in. I do it because I know I'd do it more regular than he would, lol. It's made a difference.

I'm not sure I could handle scrubbing the feet. :S

Ped egg! And you can mix olive oil with a little TTO in a travel-sized spritz bottle for him to spray on after a shower. I've heard cracked heels is usually a foot fungus that TTO can knock out.

TTO is the master at killing yucky stuff!
