Cleaning Question -- not sure where to post

Whenever we run the vacuum cleaner, it produces a strong musty odor. We frequently change the filters, clean the attachments after use, etc.

Is there anything we can do to clean the vacuum out or has anyone ever experienced this?

Our vacuum smells, too. I was thinking about putting some drops of essential oils somewhere on the vacuum, but I'm not sure where. Maybe in the bag when you first put it on?

I put EO on cottonballs and put them in bag.
