Too girly for a baby boy?

So I found out a couple months ago a dear friend of mine is pregnant. Originally, she had intended to keep the gender a surprise, but I guess she changed her mind, since she just sent out a text announcing that she's having a boy. Before I found out, I started making pieces for a baby blanket, I couldn't find any good gender neutral colors in the yarn I wanted to use, so I chose one boyish colorway and one girly colorway with the idea that maybe if I used them both, it would end up being gender neutral enough. Now that I know it's a boy, I could just use all boy colors. I'm not too far into making the girly pieces. What do you think? Too girly for a boy? Here is a picture of some of the pieces.

I don't think so.

Those look good to me- lots of blue and white. It looks "babyish" to me, not "feminine" or "masculine".

I think those are lovely colors and I don't think the baby will mind that society is hung up on assigning light pastels to only girls

i think it is fine. the "boy colors" kep it from being too pink an make it just look babyish.

Think about the parents....

While obviously the baby won't care, ultimately this present is going to be given to mom & dad and they will be the ones deciding whether to use it. Is your friend open-minded about gender stereotypes? What about the father - a lot of times men are more defensive about their little boys having anything girly. My husband is pretty accepting but he does have stronger opinions about what is "okay" for our son when it comes to something being too feminine. Think about whether they would be accepting of a doll as a present or a kitchen set or something like that. My son has both - neither are pink or frilly, they are pretty gender-neutral as far as color goes, so my husband is fine with it. However, a pink kitchen set would not make it past our front door! That will get you thinking as to whether they would flinch over a little bit of pink mixed in with a bunch of other colors.

Personally, I like it for boy or girl. My husband however would consider it far too girly since it has pink and pastel green.

I would say it is fine for either but like jvandeloo says it all depends on the parents. My oldest son has three boys and he is quite weird about what they can wear and play with. We raised him to be open minded but he has a mind of his own, that one, lol.

Huh. Dh doesn't care what color objects we have for ds. We didn't tell a lot of people the sex of the baby, and got things in all colors.
Also, I think handmade baby blankets end up being well-cared for special items, not utilitarian items for doing chores around town.
