Making a walker wagon

I am planning on making a walker wagon for Christmas for my 7mo old. He si pulling up on furniture and starting to cruise. Does anyone have any patterns or suggestions on what kind of wood and where to find the wheels.

Here is a link to a thread I posted a while ago, including a link to the pattern. My dad made this pushcart out of mostly maple scraps he had around. Wheels are from a hardware store I think. He wisely set the wheels out about a half inch so that when DS rams it into the wall (happens frequently), it is the soft rubber on the wheels that hit first, not the wood. This cart has many, many miles on it already!
