Like a previous poster mentioned, the flu shot is a crap shoot. The pharmaceutical companies guess at what strain will be prevalent this year. Last year they were completely off and so the shot didn't work.
Your child could get sick from the vaccine itself. I know people who always get very sick from the flu shot, so they don't get it now.
The vaccine is made from eggs so if anyone is allergic to eggs they should not get the shot.
Looks like the efficacy rate I could find is 54% in children under 7. That's rather pathetic.
Stomach flu is NOT the FLU that the vaccine is for. Influenza is not gastro intestinal.
