Apparently, they're also working on vaccines for tooth decay (or is that already out), crack addition, and obesity.

It makes me want to throw my laptop across the room : what kind of comment is this?!?! "While I may not personally see that my children have missed an ear infection, knowing that, in all likelihood, they had about one fewer ear infection is a good thing to know," Poehling said. My daughter's doc tried to convince me to get this one for that reason alone since my 4 year old had chronic drug resistant ear infections and had to have tubes (and he was also fully vaxed until that point and I truly believe that is what caused his ear infections I have since then come to my senses and my 1 year old daughter is unvaxed and the healthiest baby I know!) ...so no thank you

I also believe that the more we mess with the immune system the worse off our kids are.

My first grandchild was vaccinated (up to age 15 mo.) and he had an ear infection and a UTI both before the age of two. (We healed both without abx and those were the only ear and urinary infections he had. Age 11)

My other two grandchildren are completely vaccine free and have never had either and they are really super healthy (ages almost 3 and 5).

None go to wbv.

You might want to check out this book regarding alternative ear infection treatments...the reviews are great, and I've started reading it recently.

ITA! My kids have never been vaxed and NEVER had an ear infection and they are now 8 yrs and 5 yrs old!!!

In fact, my 8 yr old has been to the MD's office ONCE in 8 yrs for strep throat and received an antibiotic. That's it in eight years!

My five yr old daughter had NEVER been to the MD.

The only doctor my kids have on-going visits with are my hubby and he is a Chiropractor. They get adjusted regularily.

I also agree with the following statement and credit our not screwing with our kids immune systems for their being so health:

This vax is now part of the recommended schedule here (Alberta). *sigh*

If your concern is the pain of an ear infection, don't you factor in the pain of four injections?

OT, but the video in that link showed two nurses injecting that baby in either leg at the same time. Do they really do that? It seems awfully mean.

My oldest is 10. In that time, with 4 children, we have had exactly 1 ear infection. I can't think that any vaccine is going to improve that. We have no asthma, no allergies, no chronic health issues. When we get a virus, we get over it quickly. Again, I don't think any vaccine is going to improve that record.

Even if we did have issues with chronic ear infections, a 20% reduction isn't very much. I just can't see where routinely administering a series of vaccines to see a 20% reduction is advisable.

Which is why they will NEVER do a study comparing vaccine-free kids to fully vaccinated kids. The outcome would totally destroy the vaccine dogma.

Thank you Pariah, I will check it out. He has had only 1 ear infection since he got his tubes at 15 months (he's now almost 5) and I cured that one by putting breast milk in his ear I am anxious to read the book though!

"Which is why they will NEVER do a study comparing vaccine-free kids to fully vaccinated kids. The outcome would totally destroy the vaccine dogma." that is SOOOOOOOO true!!!

Here's my question -- how many fewer ear infections would there be if they pushed more moms to breastfeed??
