Recurrent Plugged Duct,Same Spot,14mo. baby

So the past two months or so I've been having a plugged duct in the same milk duct in my left breast. It plugs as often as a couple times a week to as little as once every two weeks.

It's getting very frustrating to me! Sometimes I can get DD to suck it out in a few minutes, sometimes it's plugged for a day or two.

I don't wear tight fitting bras, I take lecithin and garlic, I try not to sleep on my stomach. My daughter is 14 months old. I've briefly considered just weaning her because it's becoming so bad, but I can't do that.

Has anyone else had a recurring plug in the same duct? What have you done? Any advice, sympathy, kind words are appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, I've had this too! It's such a PITA, especially because I got recurring mastitis really badly on the other side, so every time that duct would clog up again I would absolutely panic, terrified that it was going to turn into mastitis. It never has though - phew & touch wood!
Anyway, I don't have a lot of advice for you, because I found that the lecithin really helped me - I've only had two in the last 5 months since starting to take it. I take 4 1200mg tablets daily, but I upped the dosage to 6 daily for a month or so after those two instances and it seemed to do the trick. I also space them out during the day - not sure if you already do that; if not it might make a difference.
Do you or your DD hold that breast near the spot? Might that be the cause? (I'm sure you've already thought of that!)
Oh, I also found hot compresses (I used hot water in a 'sposie) to really help, interspersed with massaging (aka squeezing the crap out of!) and nursing in unusual positions, particularly 'dangling'.
Hope you get it sorted out soon.. It's no fun dealing with those things!

Do you drive a lot? Does the seatbelt in your car fit right over that spot?

That was what was causing my chronic plugged duct, I'm pretty sure.
