My 6 month old wants to stay latched on the entire night, if i move and she loses her suction and become unlatched, she nudges and wiggles until i assist her to find the breast again. If i attempt to not allow her, by moving over or turning her to her other side or on her back she wakes up and cries. I am getting little sleep bc i have to stay in the same postion most of the night, we do switch sides during the night atleast once. i feel tired, depressed and almost hopeless for a good nights sleep, it's been 6 months. :yawning: I am unable to preform well at my job and am lost for what to do. I have neck pain which causes headaches in the morning bc of the odd sleeping position. She will not take a pacifer at all. Please help!!!

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I had to con Maddie at 12 months to take a paci. I know alot of people say horrible things about it, but for me it was our last resort.
Have you tried putting her thumb in her mouth?

My son is exactly the same way! He will be six months old on November 10th. It is really wearing me down. I am interested in what others suggest. I am desperate! We tried pacifiers and for some reason he cannot keep it in his mouth.

ugh, this is so hard. DS2 would prefer to always be latched on, day or night.
Something that helped was swaddling (yes, at 6 &7 months). He seemed to startle & move around alot less, and fell into a deeper sleep, so I could eventually roll over.
Then again, we were up from 2-4am last night just....playing....

I'm in the same situation myself so I wont be much help, but I can say that I am working on the pacifier during the day and hoping that my DS will learn to love it or at least like it enough that I can put that in his mouth at night after he is done nursing. Today I switched to a different type of pacifier thinking that maybe he didn't like the other, and he actually sucked on it quite a bit. I kept giving it to him all day after he nursed or while he was playing.
He also sucks his thumb on his own but wont use that to soothe himself at night which is why I am working on the paci. We will see how it goes....HTH!

after posting yesterday, i noticed that there was another post on the same issue, i am in the process of checking for more. (time is so limited!!!) anyway, today i have been giving her 2 types of pacifers (we have bought every one there is at wal-mart), she is playing with those and sometimes even sucks them, hoping she will find it soothing. a pacifer is fine with me and i will have no "guilt" over that!!! good luck to those with the same situation. i find it helpful to know that i am not the only one going through this. alot of things i have read from others is that they WILL out grow it, but i just don't know if i can keep up with the sleepless nights, i work during the day and would love to get there before 12 each day. anyway, good luck and keep me posted on what's working!!!
