My water broke about 2 hours ago and I was hoping to go out and vote today. This wasn't supposed to happen for another week at least. Oh well. Hopefully soon I'll have lo in my arms.

oh yay! if you think you have time and the contrcs arent bad youcould put on a depends and still vote lol! (imagine the news media on that! "here is a woman in labor, her water broke 4 hours ago and she is here voting! there's a true american for you!" lol!! congrats!! i hope you have babe soon! do you think labor will go pretty fast since this will be your 7th?

oh! i also wanted to ask..what are you doing for the horrid after pains??? this wil only be my 4th, but i am dreading them MORE than labor!

Yay!! You could always go up and tell everyone you are in labor so you really need to hurry along.. Maybe they will let you go to the front of the line..

Yup, they sent me to the front of the line, despite my protests. You should have NO trouble! I would totally put on a pad and go!

But make sure that you first make a shirt declaring you part of the Labor Party...

labor party! hee!

Anyway, whether or not you're able to vote today, this is very exciting! Good luck and ELVs.

Hope things go smoothly EmmaW :
AND you get to vote

Go vote now, before contractions pick up!

That has been my biggest fear, that something would happen so I wouldn't get to vote... we're going to go in a couple of hours when the before-work crowd has had a chance to thin out.

ELVs to you once that ballot's filled out!

How exciting!! I agree, go vote anyway if you can, I'm sure you can get to the front of the line!

How exciting! I also say you go vote now and then you can concentrate on labor.

I have to say this is exactly why I voted early. I was afraid of going into labor on election day.

Go and VOTE now!!!! Then come home and stimulate those ctx all day!

Go vote now!! ::

I seriously had a dream last night that labor started and I waited till the polls opened and voted before heading to the hospital and I was leaning over the tables and breathing hard and stuff and the news crews were there with the whole, "This woman is in active labor but is here to vote today!"

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I just couldn't vote though. I was gushing fluid and soaking through a pad in just minutes. So no vote for me

But......my little girl arrived at 8:20 this morning after 7 1/2 hours of labor. I'll have to post more later. I lost a lot of blood and am having trouble sitting up for very long.

Congratulations on your new babe!

Call your board of elections - maybe they can arrange for someone to come to you under the circumstances?? It's a long shot, but it might work!

Congrats Emma! I'm hoping you feel better soon.

As for voting, I'm with UM, call and see if someone can come to you.
