The pg is going well and I feel baby move constantly which is reassuring.
I am growing another life and will be able to add this little bundle to our family.
I will get to give birth very soon (Which I am really looking forward to. I use hypnobirhting and enjoy the whole process)
I have 3 wonderful, happy, well-adjusted little boys that are so fun and so sweet.
My boys absolutely adore eachother and are looking forward to the arrival of their new sibling.
I have a great group of really supportive friends.
Ds1 has a great teacher this year (1st grade) and is doing really well in school (he is catching up and has a good time, that is what I care about). The school is a charter so it is free and they have sibling preference. Yeah.
I have a great dh that supports breastfeeding and natural parenting.
My business is doing well even though the economy is not.
Even though finances are tight we have everything that we need and lots of what we want.
No lines at the polls for me either
This is a great thread bcs I know I could come up w/ a list of neg. but it is really nice to see all of the great things in my life:

Happy stuff, let's see:

-I voted today and got to see my big sister. She is hoping we have a boy so she can go out and blow a bunch of money on baby boy stuff. She loves girls too but she wouldn't have an excuse to buy more girl stuff because we already have 3 girls.
-My daughter's had a mock election yesterday and my oldest is president with 4 yo sis as judge. They have been busy making laws. The laws are wonderful and include: No yelling; no hurting; no babysitters; mommy can't go to work. Plus some other really sweet stuff. It's great because when they break one of their own laws we can remind them that they are breaking their own laws. I love it when the 4 yo says, "Oh, yeah, right." and immediately stops.
-My dates may be off so I may end up having this baby sooner than originally thought. Hoping for Thanksgiving instead of Christmas.
-My dad may go get some more of our stuff for us. I have been missing some of my stuff sitting in IL's basement and my dad is talking about retrieving it for us.
-My 4 yo is finally showing an interest in the potty chair and has been going on her own in addition to getting herself dressed in the morning and at night.:
-My dad paid us a really great compliment about our 19 mo today. He was commenting on how well adjusted and happy she is.

No bc it has the already built in system that has filtered water that makes it's own ice then dumps it into the huge icetray. You know what I mean? SO we've never needed to get ice cube trays. Until we get it fixed we'll just buy bags of ice. I wish I could run to Sonic everytime I needed ice..mmmmm.

Our baby shower is on the 15th! I'm excited bc it will both sides there. And I get to meet DH's distant side of the fam that is coming down from Jersey.

I am beyond thrilled about our President Elect! : Dh and I are drinking Martinelli's out of champagne glasses and eating cupcakes. Dh worked the polls, so I made a batch of vanilla cupcakes with red, white and blue sprinkles and took them over to his polling place to share with the other pollworkers. That was actually a lot of fun, and he brought the extras home for me :.

Also, our high chair arrived today! It was a group gift from my shower, and so nice. I can't wait to set it up, although we won't be needing it for months and months .

And this is going to sound weird, but I'm SO excited because I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow with my primary care doctor to get some skin tags removed. I've gotten so many skin tags with this pregnancy, and in addition to being just kind of gross, they've really been rubbing up against the collars of my shirts and I haven't been able to wear a necklace in weeks and weeks becasue they kept getting caught on the chain. I've even had some that bled, so they've been a real pain in the butt. I'm really glad my primary care doc can take care of them too, instead of having to see a dermatologist (higher co-pay for a specialist, of course).

Election
Thrilled the election is over, although not with the results. ;0) But its over! And now we can focus on Thanksgiving!! And hopefully my LO will be born before Christmas. Just cuz, although my mom is coming on Christmas day so it wouldn't be terrible if she arrived after that.
I love feeling her move and I got to go to Target yesterday and buy stuff with giftcards!!
We're getting things set up and I'm feeling better - hopefully no more colds!!
People are so sweet and generous and I love getting baby presents in the mail!
And yesterday I met a lady in our county who invited me to a nursing mom's group!
So things are going well for us. :

I got my first new thing for the baby!!!! The CUTEST slippers in the world from Padraig Cottage up in Canada. They are hand knit wool with sheepskin on the inside. So tiny, so sweet! I'm in love...with them....with the baby....

Also, I have been journaling faithfully for the past few mornings and I am really coming into a good place. I am starting to build up my birthing cocoon - getting into my special place for a beautiful birth - I feel very sensitive and special. I love this feeling...its sort of other-worldly.

I am sooooooooo happy to read happy stories this morning! This thread is the first one I looked at, so now I can read the rest of my email.

Great election sex.
I have a babysitter coming over today at 2:30!
There is an API meeting tomorrow morning - I'm a major homebody, so I hope I can motivate my tush to get up and go. The kids can play, and I can have some adult interaction.
Friday is a homeschool class at a nature park! The girls really enjoyed it last month, and it feels great to actually be "doing" something educational for them. I had high expectations for the summer, but we never really followed up on anything.
I spent all day yesterday prepping and repairing and texturing in my kitchen. Today, I get to start priming! And tomorrow I can start painting it!! And, I'm not in terrible pain. Yippee!

have a great day!

Feeling much more positive today than I did yesterday

Lovely day to be a US citizen : Had McCain/Palin won, I'm sure DH and I would have had to leave the country to find work after our PhDs are done.. The Bush administration has cut science funding so much already, another four years with an anti-science administration would have made postdoc positions impossible to find in the US.

Sick today, but it's kind of a good thing since it forced me to stay home, relax, and get some schoolwork done. It's much easier to write at home in my PJs with a glass of chocolate Silk than sitting under the fluorescent lights at my desk.

We had a baby shower last weekend with DH's family and got a ton of stuff off our registry (cosleeper, carseat, pack and play), plus a bunch of practical things that I never would have thought to put on the list. The wooden toy chest from the registry came in the mail yesterday too, I haven't opened the enormous box yet so I don't know who it's from, but now that we have baby stuff and have started putting things together and clearing out the second bedroom it's getting more real and exciting.. we'll actually have a real, live baby sometime in the next six or eight weeks!

Our roof arrived! They are installing it, tomorrow! As yucky as the process is going to be, it's really cool that it's happening ... it will really be a great value for selling the house. I'm very thankful that it's happening *now* instead of in December. I've informed DH that there will be no major work done during December, no work-men in or outside of the house, period.

its a beautiful day and i woke up in an entirely new country! and i hope no matter who you voted for, you take pride in the record turnout, the historic turnout by young voters, the huge opitimism and excitement all over the world, the historic nature of the candidate and what it means for the country, the new sense of investment in the country and desire to really work for it. that belongs to all americans today.

loving the hopping baby, love it jumping around, i dont care what i feel like, my baby feels great. getting to the end of a long and sometimes tragic journey of conceiving for us.

love teh cool crisp fall.

had huge career dreams come true this fall, mindblowing, one in a million kinds of things coming true, even tho im on bedrest!!!!

i have the best friends and family and doctor i can imagine.

Not thrilled with the election results...our state voted against convening a constitutional convention which is desparately needed. There is too much power in the hands of a few (likely corrupt) at the top (our former governor is in federal prison and our current governor might be indicted soon) and our school funding is mostly property tax based and really messed up.

Aside from that, DS and I went to our LLL meeting and I felt like the very experienced mom with other moms asking me about being pregnant and having a toddler and telling me that I looked like I had it together. I really doubt that sometimes, so it was nice to hear that from others. And then when we got home, one of the leaders called to see if I would be interested in starting the process to become a leader when everything settles down after the baby is here. It will be a long process, but I am really excited for it.

Aalso, we have one more 70 degree day before the cold front comes through, so I am enjoying the fresh air while I can.

How refreshing, I haven't been feeling so positive lately... let me try, ummm....

I voted for the 1st time EVER in my life, and even though it didn't go in my favor I feel powerful and proactive.

This pregnancy is almost over and I'm so unbelieveably excited to hold and kiss and nurse my sweet baby boy!

DD and DS are also super excited to participate in the birth and meet their new baby brother.

DH is out of town for the last time until after the baby's born... that doesn't feel like a positive thing at the moment because I'm alone with 2 children, 35 weeks pg with PTL, BUT our neighbor is always amazing and has been here to support me. And, with every moment that passes by Sunday evening gets closer and closer when I will see him!

And, isn't it WONDERFUL to not be able to get enough of DH?!!! We've been togerther over 4 years now, and I never tire of being near him. Also, and this may be the hormones speaking a little bit, but he's super hott, and that makes me happy Man I can't wait to recover from birth! He's in so much trouble... or maybe not, I don't want to end up back here in the Sept. '09 DDC LOL Sorry, TMI, LOL

oooh, and DH bought me chocolate ice cream before he left! Oh yes, after the kids go to sleep tonight me, a chick flick, and that ice cream are going to have some good times!

My contractions I had all.day.long. yesterday stopped! : I smiled through them but I am so glad they are gone and I feel good today, for sure

We had our homeschool group today and it was wonderful. I love going there! Tomorrow we have an unschool mini non con (conference) and there will be tie-dye going on! Whoo hoo! I got each of us a shirt and the baby a onsie and some pants to dye

I can't wait to tie-dye! I hope it goes well and I can post tomorrow about how happy it was and how fun
post #39 of 114
tie dye is so fun! and the best part is it always turns out looking good

I'm super happy because I found out that while I was downstairs putting training pants in the dryer, DS was using the bathroom all by himself for the first time (everything from "open door, turn on light" up through "sit on the toilet" which is when I got back up the stairs.) Voluntarily and the right way and everything. YESSSSSSS. And in other good news DH will (knock on wood) soon be employed again (it's been like 5 months.)

Please keep in mind that discussion of politics belongs in the Politics forum. We've found that having these conversations outside of politics leads to divisiveness and inevitably makes some members feel unwelcome.

I don't want to stop a thread that's already in progress, but I do need to ask that there be no further political discussion.
