stayed up too late last night but this morning my wonderful wonderful wonderful 3 1/2 y.o. DD2 let me take a 2 hour nap on the couch while she played in the living room- I feel human again!!

spoke with DH and made a plan for his paternity leave from work to help take care of me and DDs and new baby when she arrives.

DD1 had a great birthday yesterday.

Made yummy muffins today. all happy things!

My baby has hiccups.
The kids and I spent the day with my Mom, who took care of the kids while I took a nap.

This is just a blissful time for me. I am just loving being pregnant, DH and I have never been closer, our animals have finally pulled themselves together, we have mostly everything done for the birth, and work is going super.

I could not ask for anything more than what life is gifting me with now.

I had a followup ultrasound yesterday which I dreaded (at my 20 week baby had a "bright bowel" which led to an amnio and much worry and stress... amnio results were all good) since the perinatal doc was very critical of my choice of using a midwife. Everything looked perfect! And he said there was no reason I couldn't choose any kind of care I wanted (while making sure I knew he personally disapproved of midwives and freestanding birth centers)!

DH finally found a job, and I'm going to be covered under his insurance! I have a pre-existing condition and have been uninsurable for about 5 years. Maybe it will even cover birth center births!

Other than being exhausted from trying to pack up our household and move within 2 weeks, I am enjoying a very nice pregnancy. No aches or pains, no MS, only mild and occasional heartburn. I "heart" being pregnant!

DS already loves his baby sister... and PP's have given me hope that someday he will actually want to use the potty.

Our roof-replacement will begin tomorrow! (that's kind of mixed blessing - glad it's happening, but it has the potential to be a really messy icky job, and I probably won't be happy "being" here for it)

I'm going to go get started on my DDC bead swap necklace now with my oldest DD. I don't think my youngest will care too much, but I've been rather cranky today, so I need to do something special with my oldest.

There are giants stomping on my house.

It seems like at least 12 men, scraping and pounding ... throwing shingles into my garden ...

I'm *happy* that they are doing it, really

I'll be happier when it's DONE! (and all cleaned up)

I have the day off today,: and starting next week I'm only working 3 days/week! I cut back to 4 days/week in mid october on MW orders (my blood pressure had started creeping up) but now even that feels like too much, so I'm really glad I'll be cutting back even more next week. Maybe I'll even have time to finish all the baby preparations still on the list!

I'm getting my haircut this afternoon - it really needs it, too. I hate when my hair gets in my eyes!

Wanna see the progress on our new roof???

http://philhyde.smugmug.com/gallery/...12217332_djxNC

It's CRAZY! They removed everything down to the framework of the roof - there were old cedar shingles under the composite (we knew that, which is why this roofing job was dreaded). In an amazingly poorly timed coincidence, I'm painting the kitchen right now, and I'd removed the "cans" from the recessed lights in the kitchen ... well, today we could see sky through them! And, of course, crap from the roof came drizzling down through the spaces (not much, but a nail did come through!).

They think they'll be done tomorrow ! Yay!

In other good news: I'm getting a massage tomorrow ... and I'm not going to work! We're letting DH off for good behavior on Sunday - so he can go to the airport to take pictures. It is his birthday present ... I don't know when I'll be willing to let him go again - since it's getting harder to be pregnant *and* be home with the kids all day every day.

Janis, your house is ADORABLE! Very homey, probably more so with a roof, of course lol.

2 more days till DH comes home!

A week and a half till I'm clear for a homebirth!

And about 20 days till I can decorate for Christmas! My favorite! DH already dug the decorations out of storage and put them where my debilitated self can get to them.

Happy times!

YAY JANIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited for you!!!!!!!

YAY GRACE'S VOICE!!!!!!!! DH's coming home are loverly!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went to Walmart last night and looked through their Christmas decorations and we decided to do all white/clear theme this year. This is our first *real* Christmas together(last year we were just dating) and he has never decorated his house. So I got him ALL excited about it this year! YAY ME! Bc I HEART it so! I think he's feeling very very family oriented right now. He actually has one(a family of his own) and he's on top of the world, and I'm so in love with him for being so happy and excited about it! ok, Gushing over...

Now we are going to shop for a non-nursing-nursing chair! LOL I want a chair that we can put in the living room and keep there after we don't need a "nursing" chair...does that make sense??

I'm FINALLY nesting...guess that means baby is soon to come...???YIKES!

And the best news of all...drum roll please....:

I'M ABOUT TO BE A MOMMY AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We decided to head to BRU today because I wanted to get our glider rocker, as my current chair is not padded enough for the amount of time I spend in it and a sitting/semi-reclined position is really the only comfortable position right now. Unfortunately they only had a couple of rockers in stock and they just didn't feel all that comfortable to me, so we decided to pass on the rocker for today and look for a better deal on the internet.

But the good and happy part was that we decided to take back a few things while we were going there that we got for our showers. One was an extra set of bottles which I would have kept but they aren't BPA-free, then a toy that I objected to (it's a Lamaze brand stuffed toy and I have philosophical issues with them as I think they're overstimulating--because I'm weird like that ), an extra sleep sack, a jacket in NB size that I wanted to exchange for 3-6 mo. size, and a snow suit type outfit that was 6-9 mo. size that again I want a 3-6 mo. (although for crying out loud, we live in SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA and it was in th 70s today! We do go up to the mountains frequently, however, because dh's grandparents own a cabin up there and it does snow). I was shocked as all get-out when it added up to $139.00!!! Plus I was absolutely thrilled that returning things was no problem--I had gift receipts for everything but 2 items, but both of those items the people had bought right off the registry and returning them was no problem (thank goodness, I have heard a lot of people having problems with BRU returns lately).

Then I found out that I had this ginormous gift card. I'd gotten a gift card as a shower gift but the giver didn't write down how much was on the card and I thought it was really uncouth to say, "Wow! A gift card! Thanks! How much???" So I figured we'd find out once we got to the store. It had $100.00 on it!!!

Plus I had a 15% off coupon for one item. And I had another gift card for $25. So we decided to get our pack-n-play and got the super deluxe one I had my eye on. We saved $25.50 with the coupon! And I still have like $100 left on the gift card. What an awesome shopping trip!! :

We went shopping yesterday and bought so much stuff for so little $$! We started getting Ashton's winter school clothes and a couple of tops for me to go over my belly and a couple long sleeve shirts for DH. Found a rocker/recliner/*nursing* chair yesterday at Rooms to go for me that will go in the living room. It's nice and cushy and intimate for me and Evan when we have our every two hour feeding date.

I am finishing up Evan's room today...more nesting: Aren't you guys proud!??! lol I think even Michael is nesting...he is cleaning EVERYTHING...even though he usually always does. But he cleaned the bathrooms, kitchen and is going to move Evan's dresser in later so I can put clean clothes in it! I'm so excited!

Evan is moving like crazy!

We had a very nice dinner with my IL's Fri. SIL got to feel Evan..it was SO cute! I made her *poke* at him and he moved and she shot her arm back to her and said(with eyes WIDE open)..."Did I do that?????!!!!!" Too cute. Food was OH MY GOODNESS GOOD. We went to P.F. Chang's and had calamari for appetizer and shared shrimp with lobster sauce(my fav) and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD. I want some more right now! LMBO!

FUNNY>>>> Last night we were on our way home and I had one of my laughing fits...I get to laughing and can't stop(laughing so hard I cry type of deal) and I PEE'D myself....really good pee'd myself. And then I was laughing so hard at me peeing myself. Good times were had by all.

we have a new roof!!!! http://philhyde.smugmug.com/gallery/...13348473_qMcwu

the owner of the company is coming on Tuesday to do a final sweep for nails with a magnet.

we're going to hire someone to weed the flower beds.

We're also going to hire someone to do some of the finishing projects around the house, so that I'll stop worrying so much. My personal goal is to have a "finished" kitchen and bathroom before the baby is born ... the two rooms that matter to me the most. I'd love to finish out my bedroom before the baby is born, but that's lower on the list.

Our realtor is coming over this afternoon to help me pick a new paint color for the kitchen. Sadly, I **HATE** the color that we chose. It took every ounce of strength in me to complete the first coat, and I hate it marginally less now, but I still hate it. Of course, it doesn't help that I despise beige as a wall-color, but if we want to sell the house for lots of money, we have to paint it a "traditional" boring neutral popular color ... so bye bye blue & yellow walls. I compromised and painted my craft room green, though

Just got done with my mw appt. Birth classes start tomorrow. Yikes ~
