I just got back (ten minutes ago) from a DSS training on a similar topic. Once I get my kids settled I'll start a new thread.

Does she receive adoption support?

The adoption support office has never been in touch with us since ds' adoption was finalized, but I got in touch with them a couple of times. I also learned, amazingly enough, that in the county we adopted from, adoption support will do direct pay for all pyschological therapy services they pre-approve, and that this is separate from the monthly adoption support they provide. They also know of many post-adoption resources in the county and can help get folks hooked up.

I would love to know more about this organization. We currently use Children's Charter in Waltham. They rely very heavily on Daniel Hughes.

Sierra could speak more about it but they use the ARC model which is different in some ways from Dan Hughes but very consistent with it. ARC stands for attachment, (self) regulation and competency. After a thorough assessment, they utilize both an individual and family model to work toward all three areas, focusing on the one(s) that need the most attention.

ZERO, ZIP, ZILCH . . . and we've pursued it. It's pretty incredible, actually.

Yep. We have the same agreement with our county, though we have great providers that accept Medicaid as long as there is a referral from the county.
