Ok, I went to the sono this morning. Didn't exactly get what I wanted...but it may still be ok.

She did the external sono...didn't see a thing. So we did the transvaginal one... no biggie, I don't mind those...and we saw a tinnnnny little spot.

She said it's measuring about 4 weeks...can't see much at the moment. Just a gestational sac.
I'll need to do a blood test to see what's going on.

So... I took an 11th home test...and it was IMMEDIATELY pregnant.

*shrugs*

It certainly would explain the spotting...implantation.

Anyway... I'm not out of the race yet.

My last period was 9/2/08... However, I may have O'd late, or had a light period later that month or something.

It's totally plausible. Just not what I was expecting. lol

Yep either today or tomorrow I'll have a blood test to check the HCG levels and see how far along I am. I don't know how long those results usually take to get back... hopefully before the end of the week... I want to go get it done today.

I'm actually a lot calmer than I have been...is that weird?

my HCG took 4 days. you go in every other day and get results the next day.

Yes. At 4 weeks HCG should be doubling every 2 days, so you have to go in at least twice, if not 3 times to see if it's progressing properly.

Just thought I'd chime in here and let you know that your hcg beta level cannot tell you how far along you are. Betas vary so much from person to person that it is not an indicator of how pregnant you are. As long as your beta doubles every 48 hrs you're doing good. Even if if doesn't you *could* still be doing good. My betas more than doubled for the first couple of weeks then they didn't come close to doubling the last 3 times (I'm a gestational surrogate so I'm monitered closely) but we saw a beating heart on Monday!

I just realized that you probably meant you're going to be able to tell if you're 4 wks or if you're 9 wks like you thought... In that case yeah, you'd probably be able to tell with the beta. Sorry for the confusion.
