HELP!!!!9 yr old dd seeing porn at neighbors!!!

Dd who just turned 9 came home from the neighbors tonight and 20 minutes later became upset about something the other girl had showed her on "a channel you have to pay for" According to dd it was what her friend referred to as " people making babies". She looked both shocked and upset and said she didn't want to go over there anymore. I can only get out of her that her friend showed her a channel for a "minute" but dd couldn't tell me what she saw but her expression said a lot, she looked so upset. We have told dd about making babies and puberty but she doesn't seem to be very clear about it. She still believes in Santa and is young for her age . I don't think anything else happened as there was only an aunt watching the kids. But, I am so mad this happened. What should I do about it? Do I tell the parents or just let it go and not play there again. They live right next door. I can't believe I let this happen, I knew I didn't know them well enough to let her go over there but she begged and I let her anyway... CRAP!

I would definitely call the parents! They may have no idea and never considered putting a password block on those channels. If they do know, that might be illegal if they knew your kid could view porn at their house. It's unlikely but possible the aunt was aware what was going on...the parents should know that. Maybe as to what to tell your daughter, I am sure someone will have some brilliant advice than I can think of right now. But I'd call those parents. And I would not make your DD go over there again if she doesn't want to.

Yes, I would certainly call the parents and let them know what kind of supervision the aunt was providing.
I would also not allow my children to go over there again anyway, but if the children were intent upon remaining friendly I would allow the other child to come to our home to play.

It truly concerns me that the parents would have a station like that on the television set and not have precautions in place to protect their children from exposure to such images.

Perhaps now is a good time to sit down with your DD and explain that what she saw is certainly not representative of real life and the sex is a wonderful , beautiful expression of love that results in a child coming into the world. Let her know that real sex is not taboo or dirty and that she does not need to feel dirty from seeing what she did, that it was inappropriate what the other girl showed her, but that there is nothing wrong with your DD because she saw it.
Ask her how what she saw made her feel and ask her if she wants to discuss it with you yet, let her know you are not angry with her and that you are willing to listen any time she is ready to talk.

I am so very, very sorry that your DD's first impressions of sex was in this context.
