I need ideas on how to clean a really nasty oven

I would really prefer to avoid oven cleaner if I can. I have no idea when this oven was cleaned last. Stuff is caked on all over. Yuck.

Get some Simple Green, auto dept, Target. Dilute it with water and put in a spray bottle. Spray on the inside of oven and let sit. Do not turn oven on.

Use a scrubby sponge to wipe it and the gunk off. If the gunk doesn't come off easily, let the SG sit longer.

You can also try CitreSolve.

Both are natural and non-toxic, but are concentrated so best to dilute before use.

You can also try just an SOS type pad and warm water.

Sadly, Bon Ami and elbow grease. that's my best recommendation. it's tough but it works for me...and soaking is always a good idea.

Does the oven have a self-clean setting? Ours does and I used it a few weeks ago and it worked awesome. All I had to do was clean up the ash that was left over.
