Swearing in 1st grade - should I talk to teacher?

So DD learned the f-bomb at school today. A boy taught it to DD, and when she repeated it, he said he was going to tell the teacher so she'd get in lots of trouble. She confessed to the teacher that she'd cursed, and the teacher just told her to think before she says inappropriate words at school. DD has been absolutely distraught all afternoon, because she's in love with her teacher and doesn't want to be in trouble.

I personally don't freak out about cursing, other than I don't want her in trouble at school. But I wonder if I should tell the teacher that this boy is teaching the f-bomb to the other kids, so she can speak to him? What do you think?

I wouldn't say anything if he's just sharing the word (like he heard it somewhere and thinks it's funny to see people react) and not sharing information about the act or detail like that (which I wouldn't want my 1st grader necessarily knowing in this context).

I know it's age-appropriate for kids to share curse words when they first learn them. But it bugs me that he taught it to her, then threatened to tell on her, and held it over her head all afternoon.

I wouldn't make a big deal about it, but I'd probably let the teacher know in passing when I dropped my kids off in the morning. Like you, I wouldn't be concerned about the word itself, but the little boy trying to get your DD in trouble sounds like a situation that could create problems.
