Does anyone know about "sarcus" tear?

I had a long, stalled labor that resulted in a transfer from our birth center to the hospital. We got through it and I had a vag birth after 35 hours.

Pushing took more than 2 hours and once I got her head and shoulders out, I pushed her out without a contraction. I was so ready to be done.

I tore badly and the stitching ended up taking longer than pushing. I had more than 30 stitches - they lost count. My midwife and dr did a good job getting me back together. My labia were flayed open (and nearly off) and I had what mw called a "sarcus tear." I am not sure if that is how it is spelled...

I am trying to learn more about the sarcus tear and any lingering problems I may have from an internal tear. I believe it is the floor muscles of the vag canal but I'm not sure.

I can go back to my mw and learn more - they are great, but I was wondering if anyone here knows more.

I am not sore anymore (hurt for about 2 months) but I cannot make love yet - too painful! and have a hemmrhoid that makes my perineum hurt when it is inflamed. I am ready to happy a happy yoni and bottom again!

Yes, a sulcus tear is in the deep internal muscles of your vagina. My sister had one after the birth of her son (8 hours of pushing, vacuum, vaginal birth). I haven't experienced this myself, but she said that hers healed ok and - thankfully - she pushed kid #2 out in 2 pushes 7 weeks ago. I have had on and off hemorrhoids since the birth of my daughter 4 months ago and all I can say is that oatmeal every day seems to keep them happy. I wish you good healing!

Sex: Make sure you use lots of lube - things are pretty dry down there when you're breastfeeding, so a big part of your discomfort may be hormonal rather than healing from your tearing. I was shocked to discover how uncomfortable sex was even after a scheduled c-section with my first!
