Rocking Chair Indecision

I have to make this decision today because we're at the point of now or never! I found a pretty budget rocking chair at an antique shop for $45 and a sheepskin that fits nicely on top for $125. sooo.... my dh's totally not into it but maybe I could talk him into it today. Think it's worth it? I'm also fantasizing about gettting my dd (almost four) a mini one so we can rock our "babies" together? Worth the debate?

it wouldn't be worth it for me. but what about you? do you want it? have you been dreaming about nursing your baby in it your whole pg? can you see yourself enjoying anything else?

I think that's more than I've spent for glider, cosleeper, and changing table. But then we're on a really tight budget here.

If it's really your dream chair, and you have the $ to justify the expense, it sounds lovely. If you think you'll really use it, why not go for it!

That sounds awesome! We got an antique rocking chair for $50 and I put a $15 Ikea cushion on the seat, but the back spines are still quite uncomfortable and I haven't been able to find an old-fashioned rocking chair cushion (the kind that ties on in back and at the seat).

A sheepskin cover sounds wonderful...

I've gotten many rocking hours out of our rocking recliner - I wish it had a odometer on it. But it's more a recliner style - squishy arms, back, seat, etc. which makes it more comfortable than a traditional rocking chair. We got it at Ikea a million years ago for less than $200.

I wished I had a rocking chair for DD.. We got one this time but it was only 25.00. I don't know if I could justify spending over 100 for something thats not a necessity. However, its already came in useful for rocking DD when shes upset and needs to calm down.

I would go for it. My spent big money on our first glider, and only $80 on a second after it broke, and I think a comfortable place to nurse and snuggle and read books is essential. I'm also a big proponent of establishing a nursing spot that you psychologically identify. I did that with K, and when I ended up doing a lot of pumping due to our problems, I could always get twice as much pumping in our "spot".

Thanks everyone. If baby's not here by Monday, when my next midwife appointment in town is, I might take some out for a test drive (unfortunately the antique shop is closed on Mondays).
