36 week doctors appt.

blood pressure great, no sign of pre-e, babies heart rate good, weight gain total 37.5lbs, 4cm dilated and to my amazement i'm measuring 37cm. my question is should my fundal height measure this high if my baby is already engaged. i didn't really think about it until i asked what i was measuring this week. they told me i've been measuring on or a week ahead since 20weeks. how the heck can my fundal height measure accuratly to weeks if my baby is so far down now. also this is the first time my uterus has meassured right on or above. could i be farther along. i myself dont completely trust u/s. considering with my last two pregnancies they were wrong with babies weight and size right before delivery. my duedate according to lmp would be oct. 29th. then i got an u/s done she said baby was only measuring between 12-14 weeks instead of 17 weeks. so they moved my due date to nov. 30. i have held off labor for weeks now trying to go by dates praying i wont have a premature baby. now i fear i may actually be a week over due. ack, i don't know, has this happened to anyone. or have you heard of it happening.

the baby's head may be "engaged" but that doesn't mean it has fully dropped as far as it will drop when labor comes. my midwives told me that with second time births the baby generally does not drop completely until labor is in progress. my baby is low, low, low, the midwives even have a hard time feeling the head at first because it is so in there, but they said it hasn't technically "dropped".

I dunno, but my fundus is measuring 40cm, and my baby's head is so low in my pelvis that the MW can just barely feel it above my pubic bone. I'm 40 + 3, and doing great.

the baby has dropped, i want to say it was +1. i don't remember though, that was from last appt. i didn't ask this time. thanks for the advice, i guess i'm just worried since this pregnancy didn't go like the other two. oh well, everything happens for a reason.
