Reasonably priced blankets for kids?

My kids have had a fleece throw until now. They've been complaining about being cold at night. I'd like to get them each a blanket soon. I saw a sports one I like at Target, but it's $80 for the twin! That's way too much. My friend suggested a down alternative (we don't want down). I've never seen those. I don't have to have a sports theme, a solid color is fine. I just really would prefer not to spend $80 per blanket. Does anyone have any good suggestions for twin size blankets that are warm, can be cleaned at home, and reasonably priced and hold up well? Thanks!

We have a down alternative comforter from Ikea that I just love. It was very affordable compared to down and good quality. They are just plain white since it's made to have a duvet cover put on. Oh and i have always been able to wash mine at home.

Check Overstock.com. I got a queen-sized hypoallergenic down alternative comforter from there, and I think it was something like $35 with shipping.

Wow! I've never heard of overstock.com. That's a cool site. Thanks! Is down alternative safe? It looks like the filling is the same as a regular comforter- polyester, is that right? I know that's not natural, but I'm okay with it because cost is a concern too, and I don't know that a 100% cotton blanket would be warm enough. Those down alternative blankets look really nice!

Thanks for the IKEA tip too. We live a couple hours away from one, but my friend is going there in two weeks.

Target has a bunch of solid color blankets in the 20-30$ range

I love our Ikea comforter. We like buying plain comforters, because then you can switch out/wash the duvet covers or quilts on top of them as our needs and decorating whims change.

My kids have darling inexpensive comforters from Target (I think), a cotton or fleece blanket and they sleep in blanket sleepers or fleece jammies in the winter. Marshall's/TJMaxx has beautiful cotton quilts that aren't too pricey. Dh and I just have that, a cotton blanket (or 2) and flannel sheets. We don't heat our upstairs and live in NH and this works for us just fine.

My ds has an awesome quilt we got on the TP here years ago. Check craigslist!

DS has a down alternative, but his is German. It's nice, but he likes it without the duvet cover, which means it gets washed a lot more.

I like stuff that's soft, I can't sleep with itchy material, so a lot of those blankets they sell are out of the question for me, lol.

I highly recommend overstock.com, we got our King Sized comforter from there for about 1/4 of the original price.
