so different from last time

With my son, I woke up at 2am running to the bathroom. I didn't think I was in labor, but thought I was have stomach problems. 30 mins later, everyone was up and ready to go to the birth center because I was in real honest-to-goodness labor. Charlie was born at 8:30am. I was misserable and uncomfortable for the last week or two (he was born at 41 weeks exactly), but I never had early labor or prodromal (spelling??) labor or anything.

THIS TIME, I already haven't slept well for the past couple of night because of strong braxton contractions. I threw up several times yesterday. The pressure on my cervix is so intense and I have having very regular up high on my belly contractions. I am getting very flustered because I don't know if this means things are imminent or if my body is just SLOWLY getting ready for baby to come. (I am 40 weeks tomorrow, btw)

Argh, I am so tired though...

That's pretty much my story too. With DD, it came on gradually throughout ONE day, and I had her at 2:41 a.m. the next day without any hold-ups, slow-downs, or problems.

THIS TIME, I've been cramping for days and getting occasional contrax episodes. My body is s l o w l y prepping for labor, I guess. Maybe it means the "real thing" will be much quicker. Since active labor to delivery with DD was about 12-14 hours, maybe this one will only be half as long.

I can hope.

Hang in there! It's frustrating and annoying that our bodies don't let us know more clearly when it's not it, isn't it? Sometimes I wish I could speak directly to my uterus or read the hormones flowing in my blood.
