Cartoon Barnyard, up to date on flu shots.

I posted once about Sponge bob and vaccines well now its the show with the farm animals I guess called Barnyard[?]

Well the space monkey says "I wont get the flu, I'm up to date on all my flu shots"
UUUGGGHHH!!! :

You know I only catch Nick for the few minutes I switch my tv from computer mode over to television[DH leaves it on from Nick at Night] and I have seen vaccines mentioned twice. I wonder how often its actually done if I've caught it twice in the ten or so minutes Nick has been on.

I dont remember hearing about vaccines at all growing up. Was I seriously naive or is this a new thing?

In the early 80s I had a Sesame Street book where Grover goes to the doctor to get his shots. I'm not sure if I ever saw anything on TV though.

There's an annoying recent episode of Sesame Street about taking your pets to the vet and "they need shots just like people do to keep them healthy."

We just say, "No, no Big Bird. That's silly!"

I remember the Rug Rats going to the doctor and getting a shot and a lollipop. Apparently it did not hurt at all for them, which is the opposite of what I remember as a five year-old.
