Anyone else have a Noisy Baby?

Calla makes lots of strange noises. She blows raspberries, squeaks, squawks, grunts, groans, and so on. She even makes a clown horn noise!!!

Are all newborns so noisy??

We think it's adorable and funny, just curious if it is typical or not...

YES!!

Bryson is so much noisier than we remember DD being. He "talks" through nearly every feeding, and vocalizes while sleeping a lot. His grunts at night keep DD & DH from getting solid sleep. (Like any of us mamas have had a full night's sleep in months!) It's the grunting & clenched fists which really gets me, though! Too funny. He seems really angry @ night when he has drained 1 breast and is waiting for a 2nd letdown. Oh, and while this isn't noisy, I love how he folds his hands to his chest (as if in prayer) when he begins to nurse. Soooo cute!

Mine is totally loud, especially when he nurses (like audsma's) It's hilarious! I love the little noises.

yes, we have had two noisy girls so far I love all of the sweet baby grunts and groans...random laughs and smiles and even the sad little cries while dreaming.

Yes! And I agree, it's so cute. Sometimes she makes horse sounds, sometimes we like to say she sounds like a velociraptor (DH and i both like dinosaurs, I know, we're geeks), and she giggles in her sleep. Just today it really sounded like she was talking. She was making noises that weren't cries, and it almsot sounded like they were words.

I LOVE the newborn noises!!! I HATE it when they stop making them! Sooooo sweet!

Milo makes the clown horn noise while gulping milk! : He also laughed in his sleep!! Complete with a tiny lopsided grin that I want to remember forever! When he cries, and you pick him up, he says, 'Oh Lah!'

He also snorts and snuffles while nursing, and I love it!

OT- only slightly, but no less adorable, is my 2 yo saying, 'Hewwo Miwo bebe!'

Oh, one other thing. When Carolyn wakes up in the morning and we unswaddle her, she stretches and grunts and groans for about 15 minutes. I'd probably do the same if I was swaddled all night, but it is so cute seeing this tiny baby make all this noise.

DH and I used to joke that DD was calling her velociraptor babies too-- so cute!

I swear on his first day of life, DS startled and said "Dad" while we were all napping.

I could have written this exactly about Elina. Especiallythe getting angry while waiting for another letdown.

Oh yeah! Some are so lady like, little sighs and hums and others are so hilarious, grunts and groans and squawks. She makes a lot of noise in her active sleep phase and whenever we go for a walk she "ha"s on every exhale. Strangely, when she's awake she hardly makes any noise!

We have such a noisy baby!

She makes the horse noises when she's hungry, and I swear she makes more noise sleeping than she does awake. It's a wonder I sleep at all! But for some reason, I hear her less when she's right next to me in bed than if she's in her cosleeper (not that she ever is anymore).

yup he is very noisy...my boys are always asking what he is saying. Ewan said the other day, "that baby makes no sense mommy"...lol

DH says this about Jasper, too. He is so noisy! He gets angry if he can't get his fists into his mouth, and he makes the cutest little noises while nursing, these little sighs. And he constantly gets hiccups, so he's rarely quiet anyway, but the noises when he is pooping are hilarious. Who knew a tiny baby could grunt so loud

My baby quacks : It's so cute!

I love newborn noises. This baby has been my noisiest by far though. And my squirmiest--both inside and out.

I have a noisy baby too, so cute. Not sure how to describe the noise during feeding, maybe it's the raptor noise (no idea what raptors sound like, I obviously didn't pay attenting during Jurassic Park!), but very funny. Lots of noises when sleeping as she's either drifting off to sleep or starting to wake up, including my favourite a high-pitched honk/hic noise. And very noisy hiccups that hurt my ear if she's right by it.

F grunts all night long, it's not very ladylike. She's LOUD. She's also a noisy nurser. not very discreet!

Oh yes- VERY noisy! And he's only a few days old. We have already nicknamed him "Piggy" because not only does he eat like a pig, he literally oinks and snorts when he wants the boob

Yes, very noisy. Extremely grunty and always straining. I asked the doctor about his straining, he said it should go away soon. He sighs when he's sleeping and gurgles when you pick him up. Makes angry "yunk-yunk-yunk" sounds when he first latches on if he feels you've waited just a bit too long to nurse him. (To him, taking a quick pee break could equal "waiting too long") He snorts and the gives a quick, short angry one-syllable "NYAH!!" when he's mad, complete with the lip poked out afterwards to be sure he's made his short protest clear and to the point. (Usually it's about hiccups. A short one-syllable protest after each hiccup.)

He also "coos" after a sneeze. One short pleasant open-mouthed "gnn" after sneezing. He's going to be a man of few words, I think, short forceful points.
