Fun! A chat thread!!

I had completely forgotten about looking into summer maternity clothes NOW! thanks for the tip. (yes, I should have tons of maternity clothes from the other pregnancies, but they are all worn out by the end of 9 months... )

Thanks for the heads up. And don't forget to stock up on the Old Navy Christmas Underwear when it gets down to $5 a pack after the holidays!

Maternity clothes...fun! I've been looking online but I haven't bought anything yet. I mean, I'm barely 4 weeks so I've got nothing going on but a little belly bloat! I didn't start wearing maternity clothes til week 18 with my first so I'm hoping I can last awhile longer. I have heard that you start showing earlier with each pregnancy. Oh, last night I did order one of those Bella Band belly band thingies. It should help me stay in my regular jeans for a bit longer after they start getting snug.

Has anyone started rubbing stuff on their belly to help prevent stretch marks? I know it's genetic but I used cocoa butter every day last time and I didn't get any so I'm doing the same thing this time. I bought some pure cocoa butter the other day but I don't really like it...I had no clue it was a solid! lol Last night I ordered this: http://www.mambinoorganics.com/products/p_20060002.htm It's completely natural and organic. I like the company's philosophy, too.

I know we can chat about anything on this thread but dang if I can think of anything other than baby!

I have been using beautiful belly balm from wiseways herbals, i used it through both my other pregnancies. I'm praying to make it through this one with no stretch marks, but i know that there are worse things than that.

I got horrible stretch marks with my first..they faded a lot as I lost weight and started toning a little..I started using cocoa butter around the time I conceived this one because it was on sale lol and I was hoping it would fade a little more. The worst though is the scar(s) from having my belly button pierced twice as a teen. I was REALLY itchy last time too and I think all my scratching made the stretch marks worst (aaaaand I gained 63lbs) if I get itchy again this time I'm doing steroid shots--I keep things as natural as possible, but, that was awwwwwwwwful. I'm really hoping to gain less weight this time too, I know I'm exercising more, so hopefully that will help.

I too am wondering when I'll "show" this time around..I think I was only like 9-10wks with my first and I at least had to buy bigger pants..then around 13wks I started wearing maternity clothes.

I used this lotion last time, and didn't get any stretch marks at all. It's all natural and I love it!

I have been using that Curel Pregnancy and Motherhood lotation. My friend that is due in January has been using it since July and has not gotten a single strecth mark. I m hoping to prevent them if I can, I got a ton with my son.

And my friend that is pregnant just gave me two of those Bella Bands things. One is black and one is a brown and white leporad print. So I m excited about that!!!!

I was looking at maternity clothes in Target the other day and saw a lot that would be good for me to wear to work. I was pregnant through the summer with DD, so I have a lot of clothes alread that will work, but that won't stop me from buying more. We just got a Motherhood store here and I'm so excited to shop there.

I'm in a a crazy, worried funk right now. With my last pregnancy, I had horrible morning sickness by the end of 5 weeks. I'm 6 weeks today, and haven't really had ms. I have had some brief periods of feeling funky, but not consistent ms. I know I should be happy about it since my ms was so bad last time, but it has me so worried. I am hungry all the time and not all food appeals to me, but I don't have the horrible food or smell aversions that I had last time. So, this has caused me to freak out that there's something wrong. One of my friends is also pregnant, and her symptoms kicked in later with this pregnancy than her first, so I'm sure that is what is happening to me, but it worries me. Is there anyone else on here who isn't having exrtreme symptoms yet? If this is your second, third, fourth or whatever number child, how do your symptoms compare this time to the last time(s)?

Hi everyone!

Just found out this week that we are pregnant! We already have 6 kids (5 bio, 1 adopted), so this is my sixth pregnancy.

So far, so good. I am 5 weeks, 3 days and the ms started today. It is still mild but from previous experience, I know the MS just loves me and wants to be my best, best friend for around 16 weeks! AARRRGGGHHHH! I'm going to try some seabands and see if they do anything to alleviate some of the nausea.

I've made an appointment to go see the midwife on the 18th of Dec. i will be 10 weeks then.

Willowbelle, I wouldn't worry too much. It was a little different with each of my pregnancies.

I'm really looking forward to getting to know you all!

Well, I think I'm only 4 weeks and 2 days so it's still very early for me but no nausea so far and last time it didn't kick in til week 5. Not sure what'll happen this time...really hoping ms will skip right over me! I do know that this time I have a few symptoms the same as the first and I also have symptoms that are totally different. I think each pregnancy is different. Inother words, don't worry!

I've had a few bouts of nausea so far but not steady morning sickness like with my first. I guess each pregnancy is different. However, this time around I am very tired all day long and I don't remember being this tired last time....

I feel like I am bulging out already! I can't believe it. I am overweight and my belly never got back to its previous size from last pregnancy....but I was hoping that I wouldn't look pregnant for a while longer. Generally we like to wait till close to 12-13 weeks before we tell people (like my boss) but I don't know if I'll be able to wait that long! I'm actually quite anxious about that! So probably people will just look at me and think I'm putting on more weight....and I just need to deal with that!

willow-- My solid m/s went from week 6 to week 10 last time. I hit 6w yesterday, and it isn't here yet. I have been queasy here and there, but not full on m/s (mine was mild last time, but very definitely there). It does sound like every pregnancy is different.

Overall, my symptoms so far are very mild, and if I wasn't looking for them, I might just think I was a little run down.

I asked her if I looked pregnant and she said kinda!!! : I was hoping to hide it until after christmas break. Looks like that is a lost cause.

My Mom and Dad think I am having twins. I had a dream about it and they said it is very possible. I go to the doctor on Tuesday for an u/s so we will see.
My daughter looked at me last night and said, "You're having twins, I know it!" The tone with which she hollered at me spooked me a little bit! But in a good way...

anyone else sew? i'm hoping to sew some maternity stuff, if i can make the time. i have to wait until we're telling people, though, because my oldest daughter can sniff out any pregnancy-related project like a hawk - and then the whole world will know!

i didn't wear a stitch of maternity clothing until 26 weeks during my first pregnancy. but with my second and third, i broke out the maternity yogas around week seven, and was wearing maternity full time by week 12. this time, i've just found out, so i'm hoping i've got a while before i need to find my maternity clothing bins.

I do basic sewing, but I am currently knitting like crazy. It is so funny because I just finished a blanket for a baby shower for this past saturday thinking how I would never be knitting anything for one of my babies again and I tested + on wednesday. I've made halloween costumes and doll clothes but I've never tried tomake myself regular clothes. My grandma is sending me an old serger soon and I hope to experiment more with that.

welldone -- I sew, too. I really want to make a couple of these maternity skirts for the summer. There's a cool looking tutorial here:
http://seemommysew.wordpress.com/mat...al-the-gwenna/

Other than that, I'm pretty good for maternity clothes. With my first I was teaching, so I have some nice, professional looking clothes, and then I was really preggie in the summer, so I have some casual summer clothes, too. Then with my second I was really pregnant in Dec and January (really fun in the freezing winter), so I have winter clothes, too. I might get a new pair of jeans, becuase my pair from last time have zero functioning elastic left on them.

It is called a Give and Get coupon. Gap send them out to some people, and they have the ability to have Gap send them to up to ten people. A web forum I visit devoted to children's clothing has a lot of people with the gap credit card. That is how I got mine.

I been debating the whole belly cream thing. Last time, I didn't use any. No belly stretch marks. I have this feeling that if I do it this time, I'll jinx myself. I'm so superstitious. I really must stop this.

Thanks for the link. That looks simple enough for me to attempt!
