I have done something similar to that with existing skirts and dresses (made into skirts) I take a long skirt that is too small for the growing tummy and shorten it with a new wider elastic waistband. Also, I like to add a strap at each hip point which alows me to tie the skirts tighter or looser as I get bigger. Generally I wear them under my belly, not over. Long colorful hippie skirts work well for this.

My dog got out again today, thankfully my next door neighbor noticed and came knocking at the door. It made me wish I had gotten out of my pj's and robe. I have no energy today. I'm afraid this nausea is getting worse... 6 more weeks to go.

Hey, girls! I've been meaning to post in here... I've just been on the go a lot. I'm 5 weeks tomorrow and I already have to unbutton my pants after lunch. lol So I think I'm going to order a BellaBand when DH gets paid on Thursday. Have any of you tried it before?

I'm really hoping to find longer non-maternity looking shirts to wear this time. I hate shirts that look like mini dresses. lol

I had a knockoff of a Bellaband and it worked great for the not quite ready for maternity pants phase.

I'm amazed how bloated I am at 4 1/2 weeks. Seriously, it's ridiculous. Anyway, I have to umbutton my pants every time I sit down so I ordered a Bella Band. It shipped today. I'm hoping it works!

I had convinced myself I could keep this pregnancy a secret until Christmas, but I'm also very bloated and I really don't think that people are going to buy that I just really started to love baggy clothes. Oh well. So much for my fun Christmas announcement!

It is 7:45 AM and I have so far eaten cole slaw with an Asian peanut dressing, two pieces of cinnamon toast and several green olives. And I have the worst craving for peppermint bon-bon ice cream, which I can't eat unless I make it myself because I'm vegan. This is going to be a LONG morning!

What a combo! I had a boiled egg and 2 pieces of nitrate/nitrite free turkey bacon and a small glass of grape juice. Now I feel so stuffed...I think this is going to be a long pregnancy full of indigestion. I bought some papaya enzymes yesterday so I'll put them to the test today. I'm really hoping they work because I don't want to use any over the counter meds.

Has anyone bought baby stuff yet? My dh actually went out and bought cute neutral onesies and bibs and the softest blanket ever. So sweet! And my mom is coming over today and we're going to go "looking" at Babies R Us.

Not in maternity clothes yet. But I can only wear 2 pairs of my button-up pants. . .the rest of the time it's sweatpants and yoga pants. I feel a little sloppy but what else is there to do. I hope to not have to bring up my box of maternity clothes for awhile.

If I don't m/c this time I think we're going to wait until Christmas time to tell most of the family.

I bought some gently used diapers from our local birth center shop and that is about it since this is baby #3. I had a box all packed up as a holiday Helper for a FIN because I thought we were done having babies. Thank God I am such a procratinator! I almsot shipped off 36 prefolds with my wool covers, my postpartum pads from http://www.motherandmaiden.com/ my birth ball and some newborn onesies and clothes. Since this will be our only summer baby, I am sending out all of my winter baby clothes. Has anyone had a summer baby? Did you just keep them in tshirts and diapers, or are there special summer clothes for newborns? My dds had to be bundled up in October and December.

So far I've only had 1 blueberry muffin and a few chicken nuggets. I'm so hungry, but don't have many healthy snacks in the house today. I may have to cook some zucchini/squash spaghetti for lunch. (We need a cooking smiley lol)

I've only had fall babies so far, but I'm guessing this LO will mostly wear onesies/shirts and diapers, and then bottoms when we go to church/eat out/shopping.

Speaking of diapers. I'm planning on buying Kissaluvs, but am trying to figure out what types of covers I want. Any suggestions?

I am right there with you. I'm already unbuttoning my pants when I sit down. I had been trying to diet right before we found out, and I just keep pretending like I am failing miserably. It's going to be hard explaining why all the weight gain is in my bbs and my belly! I've already had a lady I work with ask me if I'm pg. Part of it is probably my fault though- I've been : all that I can because once the m/s kicks in it's over for me.

Did you all notice that the little guy with the fork and spoon is licking his lips!!

I got a belly-band knock-off at Motherhood Maternity and it's been working pretty well as I'm avoiding the maternity pants for as long as I can....

I have never heard of Bella bands until spending time reading this forum - I have so much Googling to do! That sort of thing might help me get through Thanksgiving without people being suspicious, maybe.

I just looked up the Bella Band myself. why don't I think it will work for me? I feel like it would roll up or down. does it really work?

I was looking for a lick-lipping smiley earlier... didn't realize he was right there on top.

I'm sure it works better for some Moms than for others, but I called a friend of mine to ask if she had used one. She said she used hers constantly until she was ready for full-panel and she loved it.

eta: She bought the Tummy Tube by Mimi Maternity.

I am way too superstitious to shop yet! If this baby is like DS, it probably will wear next to nothing until fall. He wore a diaper only for most of his first year! It is still probably his favorite outfit.

Ack-my pants are tight already! I'm 6 wks 5 days and my pants are tight-crazy!
But this is number 4 so I knew I'd show earlier. I'm not really showing but I certainly feel it.
I'll be shopping this weekend for some stretchy pants

Wish me luck going to the dentist in 30 min. It may be a short visit if I gag right off the bat I can't even brush my teeth without gagging 3-4x :

Does anyone know if the Bella Band is superior to other brands that make something very similar? The Bella is only a bit more expensive and it is available locally to me, but if something else is comparable/better and cheaper, I may shop online. (The compression,if I wear it in early pregnancy particularly, isn't bad or anything, right? It makes me a little nervous, but I don't really know why.)

hi ladies!!! i'm so excited to be here.

i was in the june ddc and had a m/c and just tested positive today!!! my m/c pregnancy was completely accidental but after losing it, i realized i really wanted one more. our financial situation isn't so great right not but i know things will work out.

i don't even know what this bella band is that you guys are talking about. i feel like i haven't been pregnant in FOREVER (youngest dd is 4 1/2) and there are so many new products out there. OMG, i didn't even know that they made digital pg tests until last month. LOL
