What week/month do you go the Midwife/Dr? - Page 2

My first appointment will be Monday, which is close to 7 weeks. There's nothing I need from the midwife right now, but I figure it's good to start developing a relationship. I've never met her so I kind of want to get a feel for if I like her.

I'm still new to the idea of being pg again.. haha... I have a couple OBs on a list... How do you go about interviewing an OB/midwife?? Make an appontment? phone call?

I have my first appointment set for next week. I'll be 8 weeks when I go in. I'm glad that it's soon since this is my first my mind is just swarming wondering if everything's going to be ok etc.

I will start interviewing midwives soon probably... I'm in no huge rush. In the meantime I called my docs office and they need to confirm my pregnancy with a urine test... so I'll be going in tomorrow (5.5 weeks) for that. My last doctor just believed me that i was pregnant so I guess am finding it a bit of a hassle to have to go down there just for them to confirm. oh well... I guess they make money of it.... lol

I went in at seriously like 4 weeks with my daughter because I had no idea how far along I was because of my looooong cycles, turned out they did an U/S and there was no heartbeat so I went back in 2 weeks and saw one. Longest two weeks ever.... won't do that again!

I go in at 8 weeks exactly. Since this is my first I would love to go in earlier, but I do like the idea that there is no reason to worry and therefore hold off.

Yeah I think I am going in at 8-9 weeks. My OB is even the kind of over-reacting kind, so I know if I needed to be in earlier she would ask me to. I can't wait to see the heartbeat and get u/s pictures!

I might go at 12 weeks... but probably later.

I have an appointment to do kind of a meet and greet with a new midwife at about 10 weeks. Hopefully I can get her to do a heartbeat while we're there. :-)

I am sorry about your previous loss.

Hi Amy-
I recognize your daughter (nothing creepy, but I think we live in the same town) and I am just excited because I'm about as far along as you! Good luck with your pregnancy.

Oh, and I am going to meet my Doc & midwife on Dec. 8th, then schedule an appointment after that (hopefully I will like them). Mid December I should be 10 weeks or so...

hey, Robin! I just noticed this post. How did I not notice that we have met before- just looked at your blog and your gorgeous girl.
Did you have a good appt yesterday?

The midwives I'm going with said I could schedule my first whenever, but they usually prefer 10 to 12 weeks. I probably will go with 12 because it's after the holidays and that will just be easier.

Seeing my midwife for the first time tomorrow. I'll be 10 weeks on Thursday.

I have my first appointment! We met with the midwives last night. I'm going on December 23, and I will be 9 weeks 3 days.
