I can't take much more

Sorry, I know I've been a Debbie Downer this entire pregnancy. But it has been nothing but horrible for me--hyperemesis the entire time, I've been drugged since the beginning, and I've been in extreme pain for 8 weeks. I've been laboring now for weeks, and I'm in so much pain I can't hardly function. I'm only 36.5 weeks, but I'm just so ready for her to come out. I can't handle the pain any more. I'm at 4-5 cm, I am starting to efface, but still nothing. What if I do this for 4 more weeks? I can't emotionally handle this any more. I'm sick of pain, I'm sick of misery, and I just want to hold my baby.

goodheartedmama, I hear ya. I had a breakdown this morning and started sobbing. I have felt so confined to my house for the last couple of months from not feeling that great. I have been dilated and effaced now for 5 weeks and can't believe I am still pg. I really thought it would have happened by now.

I'm so sorry. It just sucks that everything has been so hard for you. I wish there were something I could do.

Are there any special treats that might make you feel a tad better? An expensive bubble bath soap you normally wouldn't spend the money on? Could you go for a pedicure or a professional foot massage? Anything that could balance out the misery could really help.

Hey mama, I feel ya! I'm struggling to wait patiently too. I'm six days past my EDD, and experiencing contrax about 10 min apart for the past three (working on four) days, with no signs of it picking up, no matter what I do.

I do second the pedicure idea. I did that on my EDD, and it was a nice treat. Everytime I look at my toes I get a happy feeling.

I agree with Katielady...if there's anything you can do to treat yourself, then you should do it.
big it sounds like it's been a really tough pregnancy for you.

Im sorry you are having such a hard time.. I hope you get to hold your baby soon.
I agree with the pampering idea. Next weekend Im making an appointment to get a pedicure and my hair cut (I only get my hair cut like once a year if that).

Little update

I saw the midwife last night. Contractions are still regular, but my body is obviously stalling. She thinks it's from my obvious poor health at this point. She's having me push protein and force myself to eat, and get as much rest as I can (something I'm trying...but in the 8 hours I was in bed last night, I was up 10 times, even taking a unisom). Baby is also still posterior (I thought she had flipped), so I'm doing more pelvic rocks and will see the chiro more to try to get her turned. Hopefully once my body doesn't feel so assaulted, labor can be productive.

oh mama!
hang in there!

i agree with the pedicure idea! i feel so much better after i got one. and the bonus is, a foot rub can start labor.

seriously, do what your midwife is advising, and LISTEN to YOUR heart!
we are all rooting for ya

oh mama. im so sorry this has been such a challenging pg for you. i just can't imagine how hard it must be.

does your chiro do anything with your ligaments? my baby was posterior too, and a day after my chiro did some ligament work baby flipped. it was incredible!! all she did was gently press (though i wouldn't even call it that--i could barely feel her touching me!) on the ligaments and that was it. stretches them out i guess. i also put heat on that area to help them stretch. good luck to you. i hope you are holding your baby soon.
