HOLY COW! I just watched this movie last night and it freaked me out. How does M. Night come up with this stuff. What did you think of the movie?

I've been trying to figure out one part (spoiler ahead)


What was the meaning of the crazy old lady at the house they found in the woods. Why was it important to the story that she was mean and crazy? I feel like there was something there that I'm not getting. Why was she not a nice old lady or just an empty house?

I also didn't like the ending. I find it hard to believe that in just 3 months people would just move back to the towns where all that happened and go on with their daily lives.

Agree no way is everyone back and running in only 3 months I mean we still have hardly finished streets in New Orleans 3 years later.
I think the old mean lady was just more creepy awful drama and she was evil!
I thought the premiss of the film was awesome and freaky if nature started to do that was goose bump worthy. I really liked the film

I really liked this movie! I'm such a scaredy cat but am a HUGE Mark Wahlberg fan so had to see this. I was wondering about the old lady too, she was so mean that I started thinking maybe she had something to do with what was going on. But I guess they just wanted her mean lol.

Agreeing on the 'no way' part about them moving back so quick. And based on the ending I'm thinking there might be a part 2?

I thought a lot of it was really unbelievable (and Zoey Deschanel's acting was horrid), but the idea of it was definitely freaky. I was also disappointed with the ending. I hoped they would continue living in the old lady's house and kind of break off from the rest of society.
