If you need someone to blame for those people who are disgusted by the woman letting it all hang, blame me.
I thought this woman was totally mythical until last night. But then I saw the enemy, and it was myself.
DH, DD and I had just left a restaurant and DD (as ALWAYS!!) wanted to nurse in the car before we left. It's gotten to the point where she doesn't always actually want to nurse, but just wants to hang out with us in the front seat before we put her in her carseat. So she's playing with the radio and I'm saying, hey, do you wanna nurse or not? She says yes. So I lift my shirt and she goes back to playing with the radio. I said, DD, if you're just going to play with the radio, then let's get you in your seat and go! She says she wants to nurse and finally latches on.
Then I noticed DH was staring at another parked car. He told me, bemused, that there was a woman in the car staring at us (I'm legally blind and couldn't see her myself). He wondered if it was because of my DD's age. I realized, oh no, I was just sitting there "hanging" for a good minute while DD was playing with the radio! I just really wasn't thinking (partly because, I am blind, and I unconsciously assume that if I can't see something, nobody else can either - I'm just generally a lot less self-conscious).
The most interesting part of the whole thing was DH. When DD was born, he was pretty paranoid about me NIP. He supported me, but was anxious about it. Now that DD is 3, he had no embarassment whatsoever, he was just amused. He stared back at the lady until she drove away. LOL.

) I love the "pop-on, pop-off", what fun
: beyond what you might see if you're NIP (um, like a momentary flash at most). Besides, men aren't allowed to be topless in stores, either. Or shoeless, for that matter
