70% wool/ 30% soy

Someone gave me several beautiful skeins of yarn that are 70% wool and 30% soy.....I am currently trying to finish as many soaker/longies/shorties etc. for my baby coming and wondereded if any one knew if this yarn would work well or be absorbent enough for soakers...it's super soft and beautiful, so it'd be great if it did but I have only used 100% wool thus far.
Also, what about cashmere, angora, alpaca etc., some of the other kinds of wool yarn....do they work as well?

It depends on whether or not soy is absorbant (like cotton or bamboo). I *think* it might be. I know that an acrylic blend works, but I don't think this would, but hopefully someone else can chime in here.
