IVF Timeline: Can Someone Break it Down?

Hi everyone,
I know there's probably no exact timeline as it changes from person to person, but I was wondering, generally, the timeline of an ivf cycle after the 3 wks of bcp. We may do a cycle in December and I'm confused about what typically happens when. Thanks.

Okay...so I'm not sure this will help, but I'll tell you what my schedule has been so far. I think it depends on what meds you are on also...but I after finished the BCP, I continued the Lupron for a couple of weeks..went in for supression check (bw/sono). Once the RE cleared me, I started stimms the next day. On stimms for about a week, then start going in for bw/sonos every couple of days. ER should be sometime around the 17th and ET 3 to 5 days after that. So here was/is my schedule:
10/26 - Start Lupron
11/1- Last BCP
11/7 - Shut down labs
11/8 - Start stimms
11/12-11/16 - bw/sonos
week of 11/17 - ER
3-5 days after ER - ET
2ww
Beta test (to see if you are preg)

Hope this helps to compare your schedule to. Good luck!

Hi Poet,

My protocol is very similar to TexasHopefuls

10/25 Began Lupron
10/29 Last BCP
11/7 Suppression check via bloodwork and u/s
(everything looked great so started the stims that evening)
11/10 Bloodwork to check estradoil levels (everything going in the right direction so told to continue with stims at the same dosage)
11/11 Another u/s and more bloodwork scheduled
11/13 same as above
Egg Retrieval scheduled for some time between 11/17-11/20
Egg Transfer scheduled for either 3 or 5 days after retrieval.

Hope that helps.

I am so glad this was posted because I had the same type of question. I am looking at a possible January IVF if my Nov & Dec IUIs are unsuccessful. Can someone tell me for those taking the BCP's, when do you begin them? Is it the first day of your AF of that cycle, or day 3? Or something else? I am trying to get a rough idea of timing myself. Thanks!!

If I remember correctly, we started BCP the same day as AF. Good luck on your journeys!

Thanks Everyone. It really does help. For instance, I didn't realize the lupron shots happened partly while on bcp. Thanks so much for sharing your protocols.

Jennifer, just know too that there are different protocols that can be used. Some women over-suppress on bcp and lupron so they won't use those. I know my clinic uses long lupron, micro-dose lupron, antagon priming (I think that's what it's called) and I think there's one other one I'm blanking on. They choose the protocol based on your history and test results.

I was on the long lupron cycle and started bcp on day 3 of my cycle and was on it for 16 days. I started lupron & dexamethasone on day 12 and they overlapped for 5 days. I stopped bcp, waited for my period to come, had a baseline u/s and blood work done. I started stims 8 days after my last bcp and stimmed for 12 days (stims are usually 9-15 days depending on how you respond). Then egg retrieval and we ended up with a day 5 transfer.
