I'm looking for some knitted animal patterns for my kids for Christmas. I'd really love a turtle and a bear. But I can't spend much (if any) money. We're broke!! Thanks for any help!!

Turtles:
Sheldon (Though I am not a fan of giving your children the idea that turtles can take off their shells.)
Trudie
Do you mean teddy bears, or more realistic bears?
Are you a member of Ravelry?
And have you looked at Knitting Pattern Central? (Very time consuming to click on every link, unless you are just nak'ing anyway.)

I've had good luck googling for patterns like "knit bear." I did find a pattern for super cute tiny animals
http://littlecottonrabbits.typepad.c...ie-tinies.html
I'm on a knitting-play-food kick, but I had to print out that pattern when I came across it.
I've also seen a lot of finger puppet patterns out there.
Etsy has some cute animal knitting patterns for sale. They are usually 5 dollars but with one pattern, you could probably figure out a few animals. I also have a book called Knitted Toys that you might find at a library. It has animals, dolls, balls.

Ysolda has a free pattern for Stuffies and the kitty looks kind of like a bear, if you made more rounded and less pointed ears it would be perfect http://ysolda.com//wordpress/patterns/
are you on ravelry? Here's my kitty I just finished
