So the argument of having to vaccinate because of death is still fear mongering.

The link is not working for me. Maybe it's my computer though? It's been screwy all evening.

Interesting how all the cases were mild.....hmmmm vaccine damage or a rash and fever. Let me think about that one

"The typical case had high fever, followed by rash within 1-2 days, red eyes, sore throat and diarrhoea. Koplik’s spots were observed in many patients. In general, the clinical course was mild with few complications. Hospital admissions were few, mostly for management of dehydration or superimposed infection, such as with Mycoplasma pneumonia."

Gitti, type in Euroserveillance.org and it's the first headline that pops up.

Oh yeah, the eurosurveillance reports tell a lot about measles. They're very useful. I calculated the death rate for the disease based on them and decided 1 in 9,000 was not really anything to worry about.

Well only 276 cases, the CDC has a death rate of one in 1000. So you would need to see 5xs as many cases to see a death. Just saying. And I think its funny how they say its mild. Thats cause it is mild lol.

This affected 1% of the population and they're calling it an "outbreak"?
An outbreak can be two cases.

Yes, it's kind of funny that in the conclusion they say something like, fortunately, the relative mildness of the illness didn't tax the resources too much. Yet earlier in the article they are using words like "rapid response", "outbreak", and "emergency". Something's inconsistent there!

They said that the MMR did not get added to their immunization program until 1989. So, most of the people who got sick with it were likely born to parents who did have it themselves. I worry about if several generations of people don't have it, and get the vaccine instead, then will those future generations be more susceptible to it being harder on them? I just don't think we should be messing with nature like this.

Why is it that having a vaccine for something seems to automatically make it so dangerous and deadly in the minds of the strictly pro-vax?

I swear, if they could invent a vaccine against acne they'd run in fear at the sight of a pimple!

Well they need something to market it on. Even if they market it on convenience like they did CP there wouldn't be the stigma of not vaxing like there is if it was marketed as a deadly disease. Slowly they move away from convenience to fear.

If they had a vax for acne I bet people would be all over that one.

Just saying, I've heard people talk about chicken pox saying "It's not like it used to be, people DIE from it now! That's why there's a vaccine!" and things to that effect.
