HS'ing in TN?

Is anyone here homeschooling in Tennessee?

I'm in Michigan now and it's very hands off, we are one of the easiest states to homeschool in, but now we're looking at moving since the whole economy here is the pits.

I read on HSLDA you have to test and if the child is behind 6-9 months they require you to report this to a teacher for remedial help. Is this true?

TIA!

Hey ~ I used to live in TN & most people use umbrella schools there. In the Memphis area, Gateway is a popular one. You can google umbrella school & the area you're moving to. You have to notify the school district that you're using a church-related or umbrella school, but then you just follow the rules of the umbrella school, which are usually easy to follow. This

You can register through the county, although few do.
You can register through Home Life Academy (I do) or you can register through The Farm School in Nashville. They have their own requirements, but it is becoming a very popular way to go.

Good luck, and let us know when you arrive!
