So I thought I had done an olive oil challenge and DD had no reaction, but it turns out I didn't wait long enough. Here is the history:
Last week I fed her a chicken liver sauteed in olive oil, she ate the whole thing, then the next day had green mucousy poop and eczema on her face. The olive oil was probably close to a tablespoon, since I had not really planned on her eating the whole thing.
On Sunday, I gave her about a teaspoon of plain olive oil as a challenge, and thought I was in the clear when yesterday she had a normal poop in the morning. However, later in the afternoon she had another green mucousy poop!! (No eczema though, which makes me think that last week's eczema may have been due to some other exposure - I suspect she may have gotten exposed to some gluten around the same timeframe, and it only takes a tiny amount of that for her to react
)
Does olive oil give any of your babies/kids green poop? Could it just have been too much for her sensitive (leaky) digestive system at this point? She is one year old and weighs ~25 lbs.
(More history: she used to have lots of mucous in her poop when she was younger and we hadn't figured out her allergies yet, but more recent accidental challenges with her intolerances have mostly just caused eczema, so that is part of why it's confusing to me that she is showing up with green poop suddenly in reaction to something. Makes me think it's less of an intolerance and more of an irritant.)
Any thoughts are appreciated!
