My MIL called about Christmas gift ideas for various family members and somewhat awkwardly asked me "I saw a pattern for cloth pads on that hillbillyhousewife website you go to, if I made some would you want to try them?". I said "sure, I'd definitely give them a try!" (MIL does not know yet that I am pregnant 
, so I have no immediate need of them). So she is probably going to make some for me and for SILs (her daughters, college age). Anyway, I've never used cloth pads (I do have a Mooncup) so it should be interesting. She is excited about it.
Has anyone used the pattern at Hillbilly Housewife? I don't think it has a waterproof backing but it looks simple and that's a plus. Could it be made larger/more waterproof for post-partum, or will I just have to wait a while to use them? Any suggestions? Mostly I wanted to post because I saw humor in the situation and wanted to say my MIL is pretty cool.
