K12 2nd grade easier then 1st grade?

Today was our first day doing the work and I've spent a couple days going though the OLS looking at whats expected and with the exception of LA, this year is going to be way easier then when we tried this in 1st grade. LA may be easier then I'm thinking its going to be but it looks like I need to wait for the materials to arrive next week. We did today's lessons as well as a few extra math and the work went pretty quickly and without problems. Maybe becasue I don't have the frustrations and stress of last year? or is 2nd grade actually easier then first? I know we had a really bad experience last time but the work looks more reasonable this year then last year. Unless we get a psycho teacher like last time I think we will be just fine this year with k12

Second grade repeats first grade alot!! There is such a wide range on normal. The review might help your dd have a better grasp of concepts.

I've noticed that, public school started back in Aug and so far the only new thing dd learned this year is how to read. Everything she has done in PS this year was review of last year.

Similar to public school curricula, K12, has a fair amount of review each grade. In addition, grade 2 is often traditionally a consolidation year, where all the kids are solidifying reading and basic math skills. So, even if grade 1 seemed difficult, it is reasonable to expect grade 2 to go a bit easier particularly for the first 1/3 or so of the year.
