anyone doing anything cute to announce?

Ok, I will blatantly steal your very cute ideas for announcing this baby to your friends/family etc. I was just going to get a big brother t-shirt for ds2 and have him wear it on Thanksgiving, but then I thought maybe since it's our last baby we should do something more fun. But I couldn't think of what.
I remember a long time ago someone here did a card which I thought was cute like the mastercard commercials it was a photo of the family of 3 and on the front it said: 'cardstock $5, photo developing $4'
and on when you open it on the inside it said: 'realizing there are 4 of us in this picture, priceless'
which i love, and i thought that would be great for like Christmas, but not really for Thanksgiving. What do you all think? What are you doing?

I wanted to do something cute, but I can never keep my big trap shut!

Also, every time I find out, it is after I have given up hope for that cycle and I am shocked beyond belief to see two lines.

This time, I called DH at work, and he asked how everyone was doing. I said, "Fine. And the baby's fine, too." Took him a minute to figure out what I was talking about. He told our coworkers (we both work part-time in a coffee cafe kitchen) and they were all jumping around the kitchen because they were so excited.

These are cute: http://www.buyathletic.com/Merchant2...Code=03sibling We bought one to give to our dd1 after dd2 was born. Every year we go around the table and say what we are thankful for and I am going to coach my almost 3 yo to say that she is thankfull that dd2 will be a big sister too. With dd1 I gave my mom a grandkids frame for mother's day, but the same could be done for christmas.

I love the card idea!!

I broke the news to the MIL and FIL by giving my MIL a scrapbook (new) for her birthday. I told her I started it for her, and to look at the first page. The first page said, "Happy Birthday, Grandma!!" and a pic of my pregnancy test. This is the first grandbaby on both sets of parents, so this is an exciting time for them

My FIL looked shocked and then looked at me an said, "You're going to be a grandmother?!" LOL. It was awesome. I said, "Um. No. A MOTHER."

This is our first and first grand baby for all involved For my MIL, we're wrapping up a onsie that says "What happens at Grandma's, stays at Grandma's". For my mom, she's a knitter... so I'm getting her baby yarn and maybe a pattern. I'm going to tell her she needs to start on a new blanket.

I like the knitting idea! I may have to steal it for my mil.

If I can keep my mouth shut until Thanksgiving (extended family doesn't know yet) we are getting the LO a T-shirt that says "I've got a secret" on the front and on the back it says "I'm going to be a big sister." It wouldn't work for the other kids because they are already big brothers and big sisters, plus it will be cuter on a 14 month old

I ordered my DD a tshirt that says "I'm the Big Sister" and my mom watches her on Monday mornings and I'm going to send her there wearing it (DH drops her off). Then, I'll post a pic on facebook of her wearing it for extended friends

I love all the cute ideas, especially the card! We're really boring. I told a few people and family either in person or over the phone then I posted it in my status on Facebook.

I brought my DD and DS to a paint-your-own-pottery place and they each picked out a Christmas ornament to paint for my mother as a gift for her birthday. I also picked out a star ornament and stenciled a set of baby feet on them, then wrote on the back "A new star is coming...summer 2009." I wrapped them all together and we gave them to her at her birthday brunch on Sunday with my aunt, uncle and cousins. She was pretty shocked!

When we got pregnant with our first, I went out and bought "I love Grandma" and "I love Grandpa" bibs and had my parents close their eyes and put them in their hands so they saw them at the same time. DS was a bit different. I took the test at the hall I was decorating for my mom's surprise 50th birthday. Yup, he's a July baby, too. ;-) I couldn't wait to tell everyone, so I wrapped the test up in a paper towel and tied it with some leftover ribbon from the balloons and gave it to her in front of everyone.

My mom said on Sunday when she opened the ornaments and realized what was going on, "I'm not having any more birthdays!" LOL I keep surprising her with babies on her birthday!

This LO will be the first grandchild for my parents, and the 2nd or 3rd for DH's parents (his sister is pregnant and due about the same time as us). So I'm trying to come up with something....
We are all going to do TG together, since both of our families live like 10 min away from each other. Maybe something like 'Ok, let's get a picture of the grandparents, and when only his parents go for it, prod my parents to get in as well"
Either that or DH is going to offer to pray over the meal, and through in something like, bless this food, and thank you that DW and baby are healthy! haha!

these are all great ideas! i'm so excited about telling people!!!

we're waiting for christmas to tell extended family, so i've got some time with that. we're vacationing with my parents right after thanksgiving/over his birthday so i'm thinking of wrapping up a pic of the BFP in addition to my dad's birthday gift. they will be surprised because i already told my mom "well, not pregnant this month" heehee.

as for my inlaws, i'm not sure how the MIL will take to being called grandma, so i'll avoid any of those methods. i think i'll let DH announce, he deserves at least some of the fanfare

friends of mine took a picture of themselves holding a round christmas ornament and photoshopped a graphic of their ultrasound into it. pretty cute.

This is going to be the 1st grandchild on both sides so it will be very exciting. We have decided to tell the family at Christmas through gifts. We have chosen the doublr-sided book "What I do w/ my Aunt/Uncle" and Aunt and Uncle picture frames for our bro. and sisters. We are doing the same thing for the Grandparents w/ the double sided Gradparent book.

For DH Dad, we are getting him a golf shirt we found that says on the upper left breast "Grandpa 2009". he's a big golfer, so he should enjoy it.

The are all getting picture frames w/ our u/s in them. We are going to give our gift last and have everyone including our Great-Grandparents open it at the same time. We are finding it extremly difficult not to tell anyone, but it'll be worth it!!!

We are writing a baby blog, so they can catch up on everything that has happened. We will give them the blog address at Christmas afterwards.

That's exactly what we're doing! Neither of us have great-grandparents still, though. :-) But yeah, my mom and stepdad and my husband's parents are getting the u/s in a picture frame. If I haven't gotten one yet I think we will buy "Grandchild" frames and then put something like "coming in July" in the picture area.

We are having a HARD time not telling anyone.
