My experience was great. The nurses were a little on the useless side but I think a large part of that was the language barrier. I think they only did the bare minimum & then left the room 'cause they couldn't explain things to me - so no one bothered me with silly things!
My doctor did everything according to my birth plan (which we'd discussed beforehand) & was there in the room for the last half of my labour!
My only complaint would be that it seemed to take them FOREVER to get my a blanket after I delivered & was in shock. It felt like I layed there for soooo long violently shivering while he was getting everything set up to stitch me - but I realize that this may have been more my perception as my sense of time was a little skewed.
He was away from me only for the first hour (after an initial cuddle of course) but then DH was with him, while I was being stitched (3rd degree tear). In that time they measured & weighed him & dressed him & that is it. No heel prick, no eye goop, no attempt to supplement. He was a hungry baby by the time he got the breast - lol!
