Please help DH - SA & No Lube :(

My DH is very nervous about having to um...perform for the sperm analysis with no lube allowed. Any tips or tricks to get through it without chafing or other discomfort?

And thank goodness there's a place I can ask this!

My DH never complained about it. Maybe if he gets in the right "mood" beforehand (magazine, movie, help from you etc.) so that it doesn't take so long? The only other thing I could suggest is that our paperwork said that you could get glycerin soap from the pharmacy and use that, but DH didn't have an issue so we never bothered. I'd double check with your doctor on that though.

When dh did his SA, the paperwork mentioned not to use anything cause it might obscure the results. I know its hard for them but somehow my dh managed. Don't even use saliva either. Maybe someone here can help you.

Do they have a cup or a collection condom. DH perfered the condom but they only had that from the urologists office.

I hope this doesn't get me a warning or anything...I can't believe I'm actually describing this.

I helped with the sample giving for DH's semen analysis, and what I observed is that instead of wrapping his hand around his penis as if he were grabbing a banana or something, he sort of leaned back, cupped his penis and stroked it that way.

The makers of Pre-Seed make a collection-safe lube I think. I know I've seen one, but I might have the maker wrong.

We used the car ride there for lots of talk, rubbing, and general getting in the mood ... I was also in the room and helped with some visual and hands on aide

This helped speed things up ... no time for chaffing

When DH did his sample for the sperm function test we were allowed to use pre-seed that the clinic gave us. Maybe they have something that he can us like that.

Our RE's office allows mineral oil only, which they provide in a small vial. Perhaps you can tell the nurse your concerns, i am sure they have heard it before. Good luck to you.

Sounds like our experience, too. Plus we'd spent some time over the weekend before doing things like going and shopping for porn together and taking showers together and just sort of keeping things right on the edge.
