Or something.
I understood the confusion when he was younger, or had long hair, or both. Now he's almost 12, and still getting called a girl!
Two months ago, at a party, a boy a bit older than ds asked him "Are you a boy or a girl?" He was wearing "boyish" clothes and had a kind of shaggy, but not particularly long, haircut.
This past weekend, ds played in a soccer tournament. We were the only ones in line at the check-in. The official looked at ds, who was wearing a uniform, just like every other kid there, and sporting a buzz cut, and said "Girls 12 and under team?"
:
Ds was just standing there, not even doing anything. He doesn't look like a girl to me, so I must be immune to the vibe!
My ds4, now, he does look like a girl-- "sweet" face and hair past his shoulders. When people compliment my "daughters," I don't even correct them anymore. I just say thank you.
