How long GF until you see results?

My DS has been GF for 4 years, so I don't remember the beginning of this whole process.

Our friend suspects that her daughter is allergic to gluten and is going to start out doing a GF trial. How long should she be GF before being able to see if it makes any difference?

I noticed a huge difference within 3-5 days. DD could say "Mommy" instead of "Bobby".
Whenever she had wheat after that it took 5 days to get out of her system.

For my daughter (eating it directly as a 3yo, not nursing) I saw improvement in less than a week, and all the improvements I got were within, I think 3 weeks. That was digestive stuff, swollen tonsils, sleep improvements, along those lines.
